VB apps for NT 4.0, under 2000 or XP

I wrote some apps for NT 4. 0 using VB 6. 0. Those apps when run under Win2000 or XP have video problems. For example my file menus on top are initially missing and then they appear, but you cannot click on them or anything and they are on top covering another part of the program.

Got a super cheap deal on a box last year - bought without software. When I installed XP (about the limit of my ability) I forgot to partition the Hdrive for dos. now I'm well upset cos all those childhood games won't run.

After not going to Windows Update for many moons, I decided to give it a look. Now I have WinXP SP1 installed but was alarmed to see about 30 updates still available on the site. I am still a pitiful modem dweller at home and can't be bothered d'loading the specific updates at work, burning them etc.

Hi, i am looking for a rockstable motherboard/cpu combo for 19 industrial case. It should be extendable to 1-2 GB RAM and ATA5 Harddisks. CPU speed needn't be top, 1. 7 - 2. 5 Ghz should be fine. RAID 1 onboard would be important.

I have entered no password running 2k as a user with administartor privileges, but I get a password expires in 14 days message every so often. What can I do to get rid of the message since I have never entered a password in the first place?.

At my work a user changed the bios language. I can flash the bios back in english. . no probs. Now I'm trying to find out who did it? Does anyone recogize this? One source I have is stating it's Japanese, but is unsure.

Minisetup is not reading the INF file created with setupmgr. exe. I have a dir located at c:\sysprep and inside this dir is the sysprep. exe and the sysprep. inf. Any suggestions to why it is not reading the inf file? Sysprep.

I can't get my network connection to work for my 2 win 2k machines. I have a direct connection between the two machines, both have the win2k operating system and the connnection worked previously before i got a new computer.

Hi, Since a few days i have the strange problem with my taskbar. When i startup XP than my taskbar is twice as big, toolbars adress and Links are on, when i put them out and than after a while restart my system again they are back.

As I've been saying for a while - First generation SATA devices are not worth upgrading to. If you are building a new machine and the motherboard has SATA onboard then go for it as the SATA HD is not that much more expensive.

Since the SQL Slammer runs rampant on the net, I received so many request on those ports from unknown servers that I have never visited; I am in acknowledge of such because I haev blocked the captioned ports in my firewall, but request still comes in and stolen my bandwidth; seems no fix for these culprits?
