Hi Guys, Wonder if anyone can proffer some advice. My Computer is as follows: Athlon 2100+ Abit AT7 Motherboard 512Mb PC2100 DDR Gainward GeForce4 4600 Golden Sample IBM Deskstar GXP 30Gb (on RAID) Windows XP SP1 This should be a fairly quick set up.

Darkstone under XP

I'm running XP and tried installing Darkstone several times, using a variety of compatibilty mode combinations as well as straight from the CD. Every time I try, I get an error: -1 General file transfer error.

i have windows 2000, and since i hate the 60 hertz refresh rate glitch, i disabled it with a display utility. apparently there is a bug in empire earth where the startup screen only runs in 60 hertz.

i just installed nba live 2000 again onto my computer. . . and now that i run win xp i get this error when i try to play the game. . . nbawin. exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. does anyone know how to fix it???.

exclusive access to disk drive?

the disk check could not be performed because exclusive access to the drive could not be obtained. . . . . this happens when i run disk check or norton disk check or anything similar. what is causing this and how do i fix it win2000 60 gig hd on ata133 card.

So any try this out yet? got it myself and i love my dell even more! all settings cranked! and smootttttttttttth! but yeah, good game play - i HATE all the cut scenes though shall tell more once i have played more!!

RAID or SCSI setup after pressing F6

Hey guys, I'm planning another WinXP reinstall, and plan to use my Promise IDE RAID controller. I forget the model number, but it's an ATA133, not supported natively by WinXP AFAIK. Anyhow, on a fresh reinstall, I know I need to press F6 to get that RAID/SCSI menu.

Telling Win2k Pro to completely ignore a disk.

How can I tell Win2k (or more specifically, its on-boot filesystem checker), to ignore the existance of a hard-drive (the disk in question contains my Linux install, and scandisk stops to check it every boot, when I don't want it to even touch it).

My constant fiddling has left me in a bind I have 2 pc's with brand new 1 hour old installs of Win2K Pro &. Net Ent Server. They are both connected to each other via a simple 4-port switch. They are both in the same Workgroup, & both have multiple folders shared.
