Dell's SBLive! drivers....
This is a discussion about Dell's SBLive! drivers.... in the Windows Hardware category; I did everything anyone told me. Install the drivers, then run setup. Install drivers, reboot. Use the special inf! EVERYTHING! Nothing works, durring Win2000 bootup, it just restarts before the logon dialog appears.

Install the drivers, then run setup.
Install drivers, reboot.
Use the special inf!
EVERYTHING!
Nothing works, durring Win2000 bootup, it just restarts before the logon dialog appears. Good thing Safe Mode works so I can restore the drivers.
I even tried swapping my SBLive! Value into a different PCI slot.
Nothing works!
These drivers suck ass!

tried the patch file posted on the main page and it didnt work either coz the .cmd file doesnt remove the write protected files
but !! if i delete the files from the .cmd files manually in protected mode IT WORKS (and they said imitation diamonds werent good enough)
happy liveware 2.2 user now

Shrink Here little reply I made to trippma in SBLive <NG>
I do appreciate the work you did being win frist did this long before you
thougth of it, all most same as your instructions even went as far claen out the
registry & it still fail with good old BSOD win install the new WDM drivers.
So I had to do a new install of Windows2000 for the Dell ver LW to Work.

I'm having the exact problem that all of you described. I've gone through the hacked lw3 removal process that Mad wrote and posted on the main page, but the .cmd file won't delete any of the files since they are write protected. How can I manually delete them?
Jabba - well, here's the tough way but won't mean a reinstall - uninstall the sblive from device manager, shut down, pull the card, reboot, delete the files (they shouldn't be protected or in use), pop the card back in and install the new ones. If your hd is FAT32 you could also boot with a win98 floppy and simply delete them from the command prompt. I would recommend using the newest .inf that you will see described in a couple of other threads and replace the one in the Liveware package with it.
Good luck!
SHS - maybe the BSOD is from the .inf that was included with the dell package. That revamped .inf has supposedly done away with those bsod's. At any rate you have a nice clean system now <g>.

Yup, works now Only trouble now is that that I get this annoying intermittent scratchy distortion/buzz in my output. Happens every 5 - 10 seconds and lasts only a second. Anyone else experience this? I'm using the latest .inf that's available at this time. It's not my card - works fine in windows 98.
No idea - I would take that one to the CL SBlive newsgroup. Good luck!

just delete them manually Jabba .. Windows Commander did the job for me - the .cmd file is still great for testing if everything is removed .. just run it and see if there are still some "Could not delete"'s
