This is a discussion about I don't mean to piss everyone off.......... in the Slack Space category; Haven't you noticed that all of the questions asked here are all about Windows 2000 and the errors it has or is given out to people. Haven't you noticed that all of the questions asked here are all about Windows 2000 and the errors it has or is given out to people. Some games don't work, hardware doesn't work, BSOD, illegal operations, sudden changes in the OS. Just goes to show that the OS isn't very good. I "was" using Windows 2000 awhile ago and got rid of it because it simply stinks. I rather have better compatibility in return for the odd error or two, then have a stable OS and nothing working right. That's why it's stable, cause they made sure next to nothing works on it, they "babied" it to get it working right. Crappy apps, games and hardware support, but it's stable. Now i like Windows 2000 because of it's features, but if w2k is not going to run programs well then forget it. There was only 1 program, one that i use a lot, called RPGMaker 95. I was done testing all of my games and apps with windows 2000 and discovered they all ran, last proggy on the list was RPG Maker, go to start it, doesn't work. Because of 1 program not running, which happened to be the one i use a lot, i had to uninstall windows 2000.

edit!!
although I don't believe this anymore, it's still funny to see this post. I shouldn't have edited it, oh well...lol

I needed something clever and intelligent to say here to make this post valid and meaningful.

Too bad I failed.

This is the most stupid post in my life: yeah, posting in an NT board from a in a linux machine :):

My specs:

-Mandrake 7.2 w XFree 4 nvidia GLX compiled driver&
netscape 4.72 &
XMMS running in the background).
Kernel 2.2.17 (soon to be upgraded to a 2.4.x series kernel).

Tomorrow I will reinstall windows 2000 pro, and make a dual boot setup. It's fun trying other OS!

Netscape 4.72? How do you fixed the small fonts (Ouch! - My eyes) under Netscape/Linux?

Btw did you tried lynx? This browser is funny

Sure! That's why I've switched to Konqueror for general www purposes, and Netscape only for SSL & javascript support. Shall I give Mozilla a try?

Lynx is great when you only want text, but it's really fast.

PD: WIndows 2000 pro is back in my HD drive. After spending some time partitioning my drive, everything is working fine. I'm just wondering... how safe is accessing an NTFS via linux kernel NTFS module in r/w mode?

Konqueror is a pretty damn good browser though i've had a few java related problems with it. Netscape 6 is good but is too much of a memory hog. I found Opera to be fairly decent. I wish they had shockwave support for Linux (

are you serious ns6 is a big pile of sh1t
i don't care about the memory aspect cause i have 512 megs of ram but that browser sucks *** . I downloaded it the other day cause i am working on a web site and i was curious to see how it looked in netscape. and the page that i built actually can look three different ways sometimes it will be ****ed up one way sometimes another and then sometimes it looks almost exactly like it does in ie. They still have not gotten the CSS figured out in netscape and i am starting to wonder if they ever will. But then after i thought about it a little bit i realized tha i don't care how my site looks in netscape cause netscape sucks and hardly anyone uses it anyway. And what the phuck is whith all the advertising in it. This peice of timewarneraol bullsh1t sends me to a netscape store to buy my new printer ink and various other things. It is bad enough that there are frickin' banner ads all over the net now the god damn ads are built into the software F U C K T H A T

I hope that this type of sh!t does not happen to winamp which is also owned by aol/timewarner now, cause i really like that program.

I won't participate in another NS/IE war, but suffice it to say that AOL did screw that company bad.

I do want to say that I had no problems reading or writing to my NTFS partition in Linux.
