SP1 over the trial version?

Hi all. I used to be on these foums a lot but have been away for some time, so maybe his Q is allready answered way back when, but here it goes! I have the final Trial version (build 2195)of Win2K Pro installed and so I have the system clock set back so it won't timeout.

NT Loader questions

Never mind after a few hours screwing around with a boot disc i was finally able to get the NT Loader to work with out any problems now. .

Win2000 Tweaks?

Hey, just got Win2000, and just curious to see what people favorite tips are. I play mostly games, and use a Radeon. So if there are any speed tweaks, for the system in general, or for my Radeon send them this way! I already got DX8, and Win2000 drivers.

Intel chipset, won't install on win2k

SP1 CD for win2k is not bootable??

well. i did what dosfreak said in the below message. . . and it burned ok. but it isn't booting. . . i have IDE CDrom so it should boot. . and with original win2k CD. . it booted. . but my custom sp1 cd won't.

Dual Boot question? WinME + Win2K

Question for you W2K experts: I currently have a W98SE (C + W2K Pro dual boot (D setup but my Win98SE is kind of screwed-up (I installed too much junk there). I am thinking about converting W98SE to WinME for C: by killing c:\windows and do a clean WinME install.

hey. could anyone tell me how to make custom win2k CD that has sp1 inside it?? the article about this on this site is kinda vague. . . i tried it. . and it doesn't work. . i'm sure i messed it up somewhere.

hi everyone. i have win2k pro and i've installed tweakui 1. 33. it has an option to clear internet history eash after the browser is closed. with win98se, this option works great, it clears the history each time i close the browser.

Unknown Device

I'm seeing a unkown device in my device manager. I recently set-up dual-boot for win2k and 98se, i don't think thats the problem, but i never had it before. Here is what device says in win2k: Unknown PCI Device, in 98se it says: PCI System Management-Bus Unknown Device.

Saving Settings

Hi, I am having a problem. Windows 2000 doesn't save my settings somehow. In the effect Tab (Display Properties), there is an option, HIDE KEYBOARD NAVIGATION INDICATORS. . . When I check it and apply, windows removes keyboard indicators.

Numlock after boot on NT4.0

How can I make Numlock being on after restart in NT4. 0. I have changed the prober settings in Bios and the Numlockbutton is lid until the press ctrl-alt-del picture comes up. Then numlock is disabled.

WIN95 apps run under NT4.0

In your Widows NT 4. 0 FAQ you state that you can fool a 95 app into running under NT by using setwin95. cmd. Would you please explain how and where I would install this, I don't quite understand. Regards, jaybird.

Viewing Service Logon Informaiton Remotely

We have several services over many servers that use the Administrator account to logon. I need a tool that will let me retrieve service logon information from a remote computer (ServiceConfig. pl in the Win2K Resource Kit works great, but only on the local machine).

Hi I was wondering if there is any difference in resources, performance and so on, depending on what you log on win2kpro as? If I log in with my administrator, and play games like quake2 and so on, is there any difference if I use another form of user, such as poweruser och normal user? Is there any such difference?

Setting HD DMA in Win NT

AARGH! How can I set my HD controller to use DMA on my hard disk? I know how to set it in Win9x and in Win2k, but I don't find any way to set it in Win NT. Can someone help me, please? Giorgio.
