Help!! I broke Win2K services ... now what?

Ok, I screwed up. I was messing around with Win2k services to see which ones I can turn off. So I stopped and disabled a few (specifically Remote Procedure, Routing and Remote access, System Event Notification and Task Scheduler).

Win2k won't shut down.

My installation of Win2k is only two days old and I believe that on the first day it WOULD shut down. Installed a few things last night and when it was time to go to bed I selected shut down and the sucker restarted! It does that every time now.

Quick scenario: My whole family has logins on my machine, but my brother is the only who ever uses it. Now, he was logged in, surfing the web or something. I wanted to show him a video, or a picture or something, but he doesn't have permissions to get to my stuff.

Dual Boot Winnt4 question

I got a PC running Windows 98 on a 4 GB FAT32 drive. I have a second 20 GB hard drive which I want to install Windows NT4 Workstation on to but I can't get it to work. I don't want a real dual boot, just juggle the hard disks and boot an OS off of it.

How do you set 2indows 2000 server to automatically logon when booting up. It's kind of annoying to hae to hit ctrl+alt+del every time win 2000 server boots up.

hey i ran into some problems with virtual memory i reduced it cuz i been told that Rune editor suppose to run better. . . . lol i reduced it from 93-130 to 20-90 it worked like crap. . . so i changed it back.

Hi there, I was just wondering what services can safely be shut down assuming I am a home user with a dial up internet connection. I was particularly thinking of Plug N Play service, can I shut this down between hardware changes? There was an error processing this directive.

Hello again: The computer which I have Win2K Pro installed on is used by just two users on a regular basis, each with their own account. When a user logs off, Windows automatically ends any dial-up connections.

Win 2000 clean install using upgrade disk

Is it possible to do a full clean installation using the upgrade CD? I am not trying to cheat the system, but am about to buy the upgrade CD and it occured to me that if the OS screwed up and I needed to reinstall, I wouldn't want to have to wipe the disk, install NT4 and then upgrade to Win2K.

I got an extremely annoying problem here. . . I don't know how it happened, because I wasn't there when it happened, but now my taskbar is gone. I can see it for a brief moment, when logging on, but then it disappears again immediately.

I have two physically separate hard disks and i want to set up a dedicated page file in a partition of its own on the second disk for Windows 2000 as i have heard that performance is improved by doing this.

Scolling Program Menu..set to off, BUT....

I have a wierd thing happening in win2k pro. I have the Scroll the Program Menu turned off in the advanced options. . . . but it still does scroll them. The thing is, its only showing the files(or programs) i most frequently use.
