Newbie 2K Pro startup Q

Hi I am still getting used to using 2K as I have only had it for about a week. One thing that is bugging me, apart from not being able to boot from my ATA100 on my A7V is this. When I boot into windows, the items in the startup tray are loaded, volume, zonealarm and my mouse program.

Running Widows 2000 on its own primary partition. . . Every time I reboot, I notice this error in the Event Viewer, under the Application Log: perfctrs: Unable to read IO control information from NBT device.

Error in Registry for Virtual Devices and VDD?

I am not too sure of what happened, but lately I get this error: System\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDivers. VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. I looked, and there is nothing in there but the DEFAULT setting that is normally in most settings.

Hi, wonder if any of you kind people could give me some advice. My current o/s is win 98. I need to install win nt 4. 0 to run one single application (which only runs under nt4 unfortunately) but I am not happy about changing the complete o/s.

How to make a repair disk?

I've looked all over, and I dont see anywhere to make one. I've had constant bootup errors (I've installed 2k 4 times this week!) saying omthing about a system file is corrupt or missing and to insert my repair disk and try to repair it.

I use Windows Explorer quite a lot. Every time I open a folder for the first time with it, I get the Large Icons view. I'd prefer the Details view. Does anybody know how to change it? I've searched the MS Knowledge Base backwards and forwards on this one with no luck.
