Problems with BufferOver Flow error.

For some reason I can't have Adobe PhotoShop and anything else open or it just stops it from working and if im on IRC I get constant buffer overflows and it stops Mp3s in WinAMP. I need to be able to use Photoshop and still do other things at the same time.

I have been reading through the newsgroups and it seems that many Windows 2000 users share the same problem as me. Occasionally, (more than less), a message pops up on the screen telling me that the memory could not be read or written.

Im trying to automate more tasks, but lots of times I need to set some flags to do certain things or what not. Does anyone know where I could find a comprehensive (psuedo-'man pages') for command line params for windows tools? More specifically if anyone has info on defrag or disk cleanup.

I have Windows 2000 Server Installed on my machine. I noticed that there is no APM option. I have to sit here and wait for my computer to shut down so I can push the button to turn it off. . . Is there a registry setting i can change to enable APM.

Is there a simple utility that allows me to install any program as a service. What i'm doing is writing a program that acts somewhat like 12Ghosts Savelayout, BUT mine will also save window sizes and locations.

Add BEOS on the boot menu?

I have BEOS 5,WinME and Win2k Pro. At the moment i can boot to WinMe and 2k but would like to be able to boot to BEOS which is in E:\BEOS. The only way of doing that at the moment is to use the boot disk but i would like to be able to select it from the menu.

good pagefile size for 256mb ram?

whats a good size for your pagefile in Win2k to be if you have 256mb PC100 SDRAM? my computer seems to think all the time with Win2k installed, but it doesn't do it hardly at all in 98. . . i think its the pagefile being written to constantly.

Win2k use my hd too often versus win 98 ?

Hi , i use a p3 800 with 256 megs cas 222 and a 30 gig maxtor 7200 rpm. I use win 2k prof. only to browse or play games. But my computer use my hd too much , well compared to win 98. I set the pagefile to 384-384 on my c partiton where's the win 2k is.

Logon Script for deleting Temp files

Does anyone know a batch script I can put into a Logon Script file to enable me to delete all contents of the c:\temp folder in windows NT 4. 0 machines. It will need to be O/S dependent. . . i. e if they run Win 95/98 or 2000 it will look into the c:\windows\temp or c:\winnt\temp etc.

Changing and install drive location

I have an NT 4. 0 fileserver with a Mylex SCSI RAID 5 problem and I need to re-initialize the array. The operating system is on the C: partition of the RAID and the data resides on the D: partition. This server is the PDC of the domain and I will not be able to do a complete re-install without a bunch of problems.

Is there anyway to create an installation CD with Win2000, SP1, IE 5. 5 SP1, DirectX 8. 0a, and all of the other updates? Along the same line, is there anyway to create an Office 2000 CD with SR-1a and all the updates as well? I know these two are a stretch, but maybe somebody might happen to know.

I don't use the Hibernation feature on Windows 2000, and therefore would like to get rid of a the 130MB system file on my C: Drive. How can i do that?? Or are there options to decrease its size? Cheers.
