Question on file and printer sharing

Hello. Does NT 4. 0 sp 6a shut down file and printer sharing by defalt or do you have to do it yourself. If it must be done manually could someone tell me how to do it. (Please keep it simple im not the best with computers.

Sharing my IE 'favorites' between two Network PCs

I have two computers on a network and I use a KVM switch box to alternate between them (they are physically side by side). Both have W2K, and my 'preferred' PC is where my IE favorites are kept (the other pc hardly has any IE favorites stored).

Installing win2000

I have a win98 machine with two HDs. Can I move all my dad to drive D and then install a fresh copy of win2k on C: and then access D drive with a problem? In other words I want to backup my data on drive D.

Mirroring win2k boot disks.... boot.ini??

After I mirrored my boot disk on the server, it told me that You have mirrored your boot volume. To be able to boot from the mirror disk, add the appropriate entry to your boot. ini file What entry is it talking about? Where can I find info? Will my server bootup properly unless I modify this boot.

Inaccesable Boot Device

I just recently installed SP2 for Win2000, my system was working perfectly before this, I wasnt using SP1 because of the same problem, anyways i installed SP2 and rebooted, when booting i get the Inaccesable boot device blue screen, i'm thinking its Microsofts IDE driver, but i dont really know how to go about this.

Thanks to the Win2000 FAQ on the site I know how to combine them but my question is if the CD I'll burn will be bootable as the original I copied to my HD?? I assume not, and really want to know how to do it.

...if the new SP2 explorer.exe can be modified to allow 256 colours in the system tray? I know that there was a modified version released very soon after SP1, which stopped icons in the system tray being displayed in 16 colours. I know its not that important, but I can't stand seeing the icons that way Homer

OK. . . . . im gonna paint this out. . . almost ready to throw computer out. Running windows 2000 pro with all the newest updates, checked for viruses, checked surface of hard drives, did not install anything for like 2 weeks, cept the newest det drivers.

Hey everyone. this is a simple question. i just installed service pack 2. i noticed that there is a directory in my windows directory called service pack files. is it safe to delete all the contents of this directory? it'd be nice if they could be deleted cause that would give me about 150 megs back -syed.

Cannot install W2K on C:

I've been using W2K for a while now and recently purchased a third HD. I wished to delete W2K from the C: partition which was on the 1st HD, and install it on the new 3rd disk, but when I go through the installation procedures I cannot get C: onto the 3rd HD.

Now after win2k sp2 har been released I wonder if I need, on a clean installation of win2kPro, to install all the updates released before sp2 or is it included in sp2? If it isnt included what updates do I need to install?

Hello, How can i get my machine to power off when doing the shutdown command, instead of waiting then turning it off? Yes it is ATX powered, so i'm assuming some regedit hacking? I can't find any option to do it for me.

I am looking for a utility that I can use to view and kill (including force if necessary) processes on remote NT/2K boxes. I have the process browser from the NT Server Resource Kit, but it doesn't allow for the killing of remote processes.

I am having some trouble getting Win2k Pro to install on my machine. I have had it installed before, and now when I boot from my cd, after it goes through the first thing where it loads the files, a blue screen error comes up every time.
