Administrator Pass Recovery

Is there anyway to recover the Administrator password, I made the terrible mistake of not writing or memorizing that. Also can I put the administrator login in the normal boot, instead of apearing only when booting in safe mode? Thanks to anyone, really need help on this.

Startup problems

For some strange reason when XP prof starts up the tray icons are populated but if I go into control panel and click on system it dosn't start for a number of minutes. This appears to happen with all system related progs.

Can I delete these **.000 files?

Hi. I have my PC set up in duel boot with 98 and XP, each on C: and E: respectively. I have tons of files,whose extension is 000, on my E:. My question is what are these files for and could I delete them to save HD space? Thank you in advence.

Hi all. I had a lot of USB and IRQ problems in Win2K, and one of the solutions was to reinstall the OS and change HAL from ACPI Uniprocessor PC to Standard PC. This could also solve problems with all PCI cards using the same IRQ.

Notebook Install. Problems !

Hi Folks, I have the following problem: I have a notebook with just one bay so I can use either! a floppy or cdrom drive. I used a win98 start disk and fdisk to clean my HD, made 2 partitions and formatted them.

Hi All, Exactly what's the deal with page files and awap files in Windows NT (nt/24/xp) ??? I know that in win9x/me (eww) a swap fie is essentially what windows uses to throw around program data that temporarily doesn't fit in system RAM, effectively trading hard drive space as a slow alternative to RAM.

Can't shake BAD_POOL_CALLER

Hey ya'll, I cannot get rid of this STOP:0x000000C2 BAD_POOL_CALLER bsod. I have tried everything, even BIOS modifications. It did this during the install too, you think a new, fresh install might be a good route to go, maybe get rid of this thing? Thanks Shamrock.

OS Critical updates

With Microsoft dropping support for most of their O/S's in the next 6 months, i thought i should grab a bunch of critical and security updates. What i'm wondering is whether there is a site that has these packaged together for each o/s or do i need to download each one manually from the microsoft site.

Duel booting with an existing OS

Hi there, I have windows XP installed on my C drive and I have a removeable disk that had win98 and is assigned to drive D. I want to duel boot these OS's in the Loader, but I cant seem to get it to work.

Focus HELP!

In TweakUI, whenever I clear the Prevent applications from stealing focus box, it never sticks. Windows always is preventing applications from stealing focus, regardless of the state of that box. For example: I'll hit Win+R to bring up the run box, but it'll just sit there and flash at me.

Increase size of clock

Anyone have any info on changing the font and size of the clock. It's just to small and is hard to read especially at the resolution I keep it at and not have my glasses or contacts on. Thanks. .
