No windows resize when changing resolution

When I change resolution to for instance 640x480, all my program and explorer windows gets resized to that size too. How can I prevent this from happening, i. e have them left alone and be big - and out of reach if nessesary? I use the TV out fetaures of my graphics card, you see.

"Compressed Folders" Tweak for W2K

Edit: Found the patch. However, it's not working as expected. I thought it would work like zipmagic, generatering REAL folders. It works just like any other zip-Program, a window with the zip file's contents popping up.

Default explorer window size

Can I change the default explorer window size? All I want is when I open my computer or my documents it is a wide rectangle (700x325 pixels) instead of a big square. Opening and setting the size and then close it does work, but only for some time.

I have installed Windows XP Professional on three computer systems, and there is one consistently annoying bug which I would like to remedy. When setting up an Internet Service Provider dial-up connection, the password can be saved with the configuration similar to earlier versions of Windows.

Advice please: getting rid of an XP "boneyard"

Someone put xp on my computer. Unfortunately it didn't work out, so I got him to format my hard disk Β©and reinstall '98, which works a treat. The problem is. . . . I now have all these Found. 000,001 etc folders and a System Volume Information folder on my second drive (d) with over 1.

Windows XP Appearance

I turned my computer on today to find that the Windows XP theme had been changed to the Windows classic theme without me doing it, which i thought was weird. Then i went to switch it back, and found out the the Windows XP setting in the Appearance tab of the desktop properties has gone.

NT 4.0 and 2000 Dual Boot?

Can NT 4. 0 and 2000 be installed as a dual boot? I'd like to spend some time getting to know 2000 before I install it on all our workstations. I don't really want to blow out NT on my machine just yet.

System 100 % cpu usage

hi, i 've got a problem with windows 2000 advanced server. When i even install with the minimum of hardware, windows 2000 is running with 100 % cpu usage process: 'system' (not system idle process) after installing sp2, before restarting, the system idle process becomes 100 % for about 2 minutes.

Ok, I have this computer running XP and everytime you start the cpu is running at 100% constantly. I checked task manager and found two programs running that are causing this. AcroRd31. exe and agsubr.

Minamize to the System Tray

Is there a way to set certain programs to minimize to the system tray rather then the taskbar? if not how do you set Outlook XP to minimize to the systray? i know this is possible but i don't know the way to so it.
