Any tweaks for my setup?

I have a celeron 300a@464, 192 megs of pc100, Abit BH6 rev 1. 01 (running QN bios), WD 8. 4 gig UDMA-33, Matrox G400 32 meg, SBlive Value, toshiba 6x dvd-rom drive, HP surestore 7200i, Supra express 56i ISA and other stuff.

Dual boot W98Me and W2000

Hello, First, excuse me for my english. I hope you understand that i say. I'm a new user of W2K, it's very nice, but i want keep W98Me for games and tests. I use Dual boot, but my problem is that i want cache the partition of each system from the other, for security, and i want have the sames drives letters.

I just wanna ask u guys outthere with your VIA mainboard fx. Asus P3V4V: Is windows 2000 running 100% ok with the new 4 in 1 VIA drivers ?? I had nothing but problems with my old Asus P3V4X and windows 2000.

W2K Slows my connection

when i 1st went on the net using my 56K 3com US robotics voice/fax modem using win2k, i thought i should connect atless at 49, 333bps where i used to when i had win98 but now i only connect at 49, 222.

Tip: Disable hidden options

Everytime you click on Favorites or start, programs you get the little two arrow down at the bottom of the menu indicating there is more that is hidden. To disable that: Right click on taskbar, click Properties.

Tip: to save precious disk space on C: and speed up ur computer use a third party utility to remove dead links in ur registry. This is what i did using Cleansweep in win98 and it saved a HELL of a lot of spce on my old computer with 500Mb in c: (i saved around 25-30mb).

Faster Startup

I figurate out why Win2K is for a minute busy at startup. I found what causes the delay. When the boot is over, everything is loaded and the user is ready to go, Win2K starts the System File Checker.

inverse cursor problem

you know how some of the cursors in windows can be inverse (that is they display the opposite colour to what they are over, such as the defulat text-select cursor), well since installing intellipoint 3.

Power Managment in Windows 2000

This isn't a big problem, but i'm curious about it. When i am logged in to windows 2000 and i leave the computer idle for a while the monitor goes blank like it should. If i ctrl+alt+del and lock the computer, the monitor will not blank no matter how long i leave it idle.

Why do these progs keep bugging me ???

Hey, I'm totally new to Win2k so please bear with me. . . . I am using ZoneAlarm and when I access either IE or OE these two programs ask to have internet access. . . WHY ?????????? Services and Controller App Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Please help, this is very frustrating MiShY.
