Disabling the "net send" Messenger service on Wind

After trying numerous ways to deactive the windows messenger to keep from getting all those numerous popups, I finally found one that works. This is the second day I've had it and no popups so far. I have tried numerous ways to get rid of the messenger service in Windows XP and had not been successful.

I have just bought a windows XP system and have found it will not run my windows 95 games and I have tried out what it said on the Lucasarts web site but it still will not work? can any one help? I have a lot of old games I can't play?

Keyboard Language at Logon

Hi. Having installed NT4 on a pc the keyboard was set at US language. I have changed this to UK and set it to be used as default. When logging on to the PC the keyboard reverts back to US. When logged on everthing is back to UK.

I boot using an old Win98 Boot Floppy to DOS, the following drives are usually detected A - Floppy C - FAT32 Partition 1 D - FAT32 Partition 2 E - MS RamDrive F - CD Drive on C there are two unattended setup files - unattend.

Monitor is VERY dark

Hey guys, I can do software but hardware? i think not. My monitor is very dark. I have tried everything to make it lighter but i cant. any suggstions? thanks, pkiff.

Difficulties playing FFVII for PC

Here are my system specs. I have an HP Vectra Pentium 4 1. 4 Ghz. I do not have a video accelerator card. My sound card is a Mad Dog Prowler Soundwave 4. 1, and, naturally, I have a 4. 1 speaker system.

Hell0! I just wounder how I can make my Creative Encore Dxr2 run under my Windows XP. It seems like there is no drivers for XP? Is that realy true? Or does any one no how to make it work? /br Kristoffer (sweden).

New XP Installation --> Old partition "not accessibl

I originally had my boot drive split into 2 NTFS partitions. I just reformatted the boot partition however now when I try to access the other partition I get an Access Denied. I'm assuming it has to do with permissions set by the original WinXP installation, but how do I recover it? Please help! -John.

How do I increase size of text on NT Compatible? I used to be able using view in toolbar then increase text size. Now it doesn't work on this site. Thanks tmarsh Opera does the trick. CRT-ALT key with scroll doesn't Thanks again tmarsh.

Certificate Services Active X control?

I have an Enterprise Certificate Server installed and I was following this article: to install an IPsec certificate. I get to step #5 under Installing a Local Computer Certificate from an Enterprise Windows 2000 Certificate Authority and then it has a pop-under window that says Downloading Active X control.
