i did an windows update. now i have to use user accounts to get to the desktop. before i just started up and it went to the desktop. now i have to logon to get to the desktop. i`m the only user so i don`t need to logon.

Taskbar & start menu hidden in XP and can't activate

Running XP, the taskbar and start meun are hidden as the autohide is checked, but isn't. Just by moving the cursor to the lower part of the destop doesn't make it scroll up as it should. I tried the end task and new task in Task Manager for Explorer trick that works in 2k, but it didn't here.

NTSwitch & Windows Server 2003

Has anybody tried this with RTM Win2k3? I remember that you could change XP Pro to Whister Server but it had a bad memory leak. I don't have a copy of 2003 to play with, but I assume anything that NTSwitch changes still works.

hello. . Long time ago I read an article said there is a tweak can make program under 2000 Server/Adv server think its in Pro edition, so you can install program that normally not allowed to be installed on server.

Windows media player 9.0, no controls in fullscreen

When i play a movie in Windows Media player 9. 0 and change mode to fullscreen (ctrl-enter) (that is NOT full-mode), i used to with Windows Media player 8. 0 have controls here. There must be a setting or something because my friend who got wmp9.

windows 2003 server no support for older hardware???

I just installed windows 2003 server on my machine to find out that some hardware is just not working ;( Some question marks in my device manager. Sound blaster AWE64 and my initio SCSI card. I just can't believe it.

NT 4 PDC. I want a 2000 BDC for it Possible??? How?

I currently have no BDC but I do have a 2000 standalone. I ran dcpromo but it seems to only work if there is AD on the network. How can I make it a BDC emulator for my NT 4 domain? I want my SAm backed up, and I want logon fault tolerance, and I do not want to upgrade the NT 4 BDC yet.

This is a cool trick for al those of you running Windows 2000 or XP and have at LEAST 512 MB of RAM (hint hint: time to shell out memory for that RAM chip you wanted). First of all, I must give credit to where i found this trick.

Unable to format 2nd partition w/ FAT32 using Win 2k CD

Windows NT 4.0 Server Crash

Can anybody help me bring back my Windows NT 4. 0 server back to life? All i know is that its totally messed up. Server comes to a point where it gives out a blue screen with some messages about dumping memory then it just stays there.

Adding drivers to the Win2k boot disks?

Is it possible to add drivers to the Win2k boot disks? Is it possible to even add disks? Mostly it would just be nice to add promise chipset support so I don't have to do that annoying F6, and track down the proper driver disk.
