Virus Fragments in User Profile

Hello Everyone - glad I found this forum it is excellent. Can anyone help with reccuring virus fragments in a users profile? I have a user on our network using a Windows XP laptop. He uses offline file syncronisation.

Windows 2000 Server, "Backup" tape problem....

I erased a tape here and did a test backup, which worked fine. (media created today june 16 2003) Then I stick in a new tape and removable storage reports this new tape created last week. (Jun 09 2003) (Daily backup for that day) I want to then test restore from that day.

I replaced my QDI BX chipset mobo with a celeron 300A @ 450 with a ABIT VH6 with a PIII 800. I'm running windows XP sp1, and after replacing it didn't even boot, so I did a repair of my windows install.

NT to XP

I loaded XP on a new drive. I have additional SCSI drives that were NTFS formatted under NT. I can not access these SCSI drives under XP. They show up under Disk Management. What can I do to get these SCSI drives to be accessible with XP????.

MS 2000 fixes on NT 4.0

I have 2 hot fixes that will not install through the normal windows update and when given the Setup Canceled window it lists the following Q numbers. Q318138 Q323172 When I went to MS site to see (google search) what they are and how to install them it I didn't find a how to for NT, only 2000.

can any1 please tell me why HKEY_USERS\ registry key on WinXpPro as all those S-1-5-18,etc subkeys i´ve analyzed HKEY_USERS\. DEFAULT and it as the single account settings that i use , can i delete the others , or some garbage here if there exist please feedback me.

Windows 2k sp3 update error

Hello everyone. I'm a bit desperate about this problem, and i have tried to find some assistance even on the microsoft site without success. When i'm trying to update (via net) from Windows 2k server sp2 for the sp3, he starts to inspect the system and then give the following error message.

beginner needs help with dual booting!

I have an 80 Gig harddrive running Windows 2000 Professional. I have been having lots of little minor problems for the past 6 months increasingly getting worse. I would like to switch over to a dual boot using Windows 98 SE and Windows 2000, formatting Windows 2000 after install Windows 98.

2003 Boot disks?

Hey all Wondering if 2003 has boot disks? i have an older laptop that does not boot from cdrom only fdd or HD - so curious if 2003 has boot disks that i could download form somwhere or get form the 2003 cd? i am going to use this old paper weight for a DNS cache server.
