XP Pro versus 2003 Server

Hey everyone. don't know if this has been asked of (i'm guessing it has) but what would you guys consider to be better as a workstation: XP Pro or 2003 Server. I've read the guide to turn 2003 Server into a workstation and it seems easy enough understand.

Safemode on Windows NT.

On one of the computers here at work I changed the resolution to one that the monitor couldnt display. Well it never went back so now every time I start up the comptuer and get into windows the screen goes blank and displays one of those 'out of scan range' errors.

hi, i am using a windows 2000 pro computer with computer name as steve recently i found a a steve$ folder under C:\Documents and Settings\ folder of my computer. does anyone know what this is? is my computer being hacked? Thanks.

I see that Windows 2k SP4 is almost complete but I have not heard anything about RCs of Windows XP SP2. Hrmmm someone is going to have to get on Bill's arse about this.

Remote Desktop Connection

Yelllllo, this problem is really annoying me, caus i cant figure it out. i have 2 computers with win2kprosp3, and remote desktop connection off the winxpro disc. RDC is on both computers and im wanting to control each computer from the other computer(gaming reasons).

DVI or VGA?

Hey everybody, just had a quick question. I am going to be running Windows XP sp1 as soon as I format my pc. I've got a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 and it has DVI and VGA outputs. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 955DF.

This is really going to sound like a BIG DUH, but I have a question. My nephew, who is very computer savy, says I don't have to shut my computer off at night, that it's probably harder on it to power it up every morning than to leave it on.

Running Win 95/98 Games on Win 2000

I have just updated from NT4 to Win 2000 Pro. I then followed the advice in the FAQ below. This appears to have had no effect (unless I'm missing something!) When I right-click on a shortcut, and select properties; I get the normal tabs - General, Shortcut and Security.

Domains without 'www' preceeding them don't work??

Hi I'm not sure why but on Win XP, domains without the preceeding 'www', eg. hotmail. com don't work. I have to type them in full: If I don't type it in a full, I get a pop-up box asking for my username/password and no matter what I type in it gives me a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error: The page cannot be displayed.

What is efes.exe

A few days ago a file named efes. exe showed up on my comp, in the All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder under Documents & Settings, which I have no idea of its purpose or danger. It also seemed to show up on my bro's comp the same day.
