Hi, Ok so I got a virus on the computer and since the antivirus tried to clean it up my XP has now started doing this odd thing in both safe and normal mode. It will login and start fine as soon as it gets to the desktop it logs out.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a little problem that I am experiencing. I have just installed XP Pro and have found the domain being SUPREME, no worries there. I have been able to map a network drive to the server logging on as Administrator to the local machine.

XP to Vista Printer Permissions on Home Network

I have a home network and recently added a VISTA machine. It can see the printer on the network but when I go to connect to the printer, I get an access authorization error. I have tried all the obvious things.

Windows showing wrong free space

Ok. Im not the best Windows user in the world, but how come all of a sudden Windows shows that I have used about 48Gb more than I really have? Come on! What is the biggie! I really need to boost the space up again so that I can use my Western Digital Raptor Disk for demanding apps.

I just converted my old XP computer to windows server 2003. I then learned that my scanning software for my Canon Imageclass 6580 no longer works since I am using server 2003. I need something for scanning to PDF for my document storage.

Virtual PC 2007 on Windows 2000 The Virtual PC 2007 installer does not allow VPC 2007 to be installed on Windows 2000. Just like Windows Defender the fix is simple. You simply have to remove the limitation from the installer.

Like many other unfortunates, we got a new vista machine when our old pc hard drive crashed. I am now trying to restore my lost files from a maxtor one touch III drive. This has been many months of pain.

XP Dualboot and missing hal.dll error

At the moment I have two hard disks that I swap in and out of the one laptop ( Toshiba Tecra A2). Both have an XP professional image, one is mine that came with the laptop ( Toshiba only supply a recovery CD not a full XP disk) and the other is from my work laptop ( so I don't know the Administrator password).

I have two hard drives. I want to use both of them on the same computer, but keep one XP since my scanner utility is on there for my canon 6580. Can I do this? If so how do I do it?.

I was creating a work group and I thought I had it. It told me to reboot for to take affect. Well, I did, and now I cannot login. Some reason I did not associate the computer properly to the server. How can I log back in? I need to fix it somehow.

Dear friends, Can anyone help me with this issue? I am having OS of windows XP sp2 professional. I encrypted some files while my administrator name is sundaramurthy. Then one day I formatted the C drive and installed the same OS but with administrator name as sundaramoorthy.

Windows Server 2003 R2 problem

Hello all. . . ive got some probs with my new OS. I plugged in my usb external HDD (WD 300GB) and windows recognized it and installed it normally as all other OP (its plugnplay hdd no need for drivers) but the HDD icon does not appear in my computer or elsewhere so i can select and use my drive.

Can't access Control Panel in Windows XP

I have an e-machines running Windows XP, which worked originally. Recently, I've been unable to access the Control Panel. Clicking on Start - Settings - Control Panel the first time after boot, brings up the white window with the little flashlight moving back and forth.
