Anyone found a solution to the missing Search Companion issue (sp2)?

Greetings all! Here's my problem, and apparently alot of other people's as well judging by the massive forum entries worldwide. After installing service pack2 for Xp Home, the Search Companion no longer functions and causes the error Some files needed are missing, you may need to run setup.

Wireless Networking and load order in XP

Hi, I have XP Pro SP2. I use my laptop with wireless networking. One thing that really annoys me is that when the machine boots and I log into Windows is that wireless networking seems to be the last thing to load.

print queue is not clearing

hi guys i have installed two star 543 receipt printer with edimax print server to my win 2003 server. after printing the job remains in the queue showing the status as sent to printer. each time i have to manually clear the print queue.

How to Fix spell check in OS in XP

Does anyone know how to put a spell checker into outlook express 6. 0 on XP system. OS isn't compatable with XP in spell check. I tried downloading different spell check programs but had problems with them.

Cannot Boot with Vista

Hi, First my laptop didnt recognize my logon info, then it told me i have a boot sector problem. I repaired with recovery console as per instructions on microsoft website, used bootrec. exe, rebuilt boot record, tried to fix with FixMbr which command was not recognized and also couldnt use the command FixBoot.

Win NT 4.0 virus protection?

Still running Windows NT 4. 0 on my PDC, Proxy server and RAID cabinet/file server. Anyone know of an anti-virus software solution that still supports NT4? Haven't had any problems for the last few years but I think something is suddenly amiss in Drivetown on my network.

HP USB Printer "USB Device not recognize"

I'm having a very annoying problem about this HP USB Printer (HP Laserjet 4250 / HP Laserjet P2015). I could not install it because of USB not recognize problem when I connect it to any USB ports. The PC is Dell Optiplex and I believe it has USB2.

Ive heard that there is a certain limit to the number of times that you can install Windows XP. If you exceed this limit then the product key of ur Win XP installation changes. Is this true?. If so, then how do you reinstall XP if the product key has changed?.

Sound in XP very echoey

Since I built my computer I've been running Vista and the sound has been clear and good. I just formatted and put XP Pro back on and now the sound is very echoey especially in games. I am using K-lite mega codec pack in XP, thought I would mention this as I have heard sometimes codecs can cause issues.

I would appreciate any help possible. I just got this acer laptop with vista. I immediately set up a password which I remember. I finally got all my files transfered from my other computer. It promptly said that I needed to restart.
