Well I have suspected Windows XP's SP1 to be more of a problem than a fix and now they are confirmed. I did some benchmarking with and without SP1 installed and the numbers are intriguing. First off, my modest system - AMD Duron 1.

Sound-Video Cards IRQ issues

hi i got some problems, i hope u can help me a little. . . since i installed a voodoo card (5 5500 PCI) in my machine, i've got some annoying problems with the sound-video running same time to give u an idea how this problem is, for example, running music alone in the desktop, it runs fine and perfect, same with video.

How to create a bootable NT 4.0 w and Server

How can I create a bootable NT4. 0 Cd. Unfortunaly i only have the instalasation files thruw floppy disks. . . Can anybody help me A bin file and boot files would do just fine. . . Rabbit-zek.

Cannot restore!!??

Pls Help- for some reason my XP wont restore to an earlier time, this is the first time it wont do it. . . I've been creating regular restoration points and wanted to restore my pc after problems with a CAD program I installed on 26 dec.

FAT32 on WD HDD

When I try to install Windows 2000 Pro on my Western Digital WD800JB hard drive (7200rpm, 80GB), it only gives me the option of using the NTFS file system. Does anyone know why it won't allow me to use the FAT32 file system?.

Hey all, A couple years ago, I bought a retail version of Windows 2000 Professional for my previous system. I have 2k installed on that system and I believe I downloaded SP1 for it a while back. I want to use this same copy of Win2k for the system I am building now.

No sound on XP PC

I have a new PC, 2. 0 ghz pentium IV, XP home operating system, 19 inch high res monitor etc. When we got it the sound worked in that we got the log on sounds and the radio thing worked. After a few days we lost all sound.

Page files, should I have more than one?

I have 3 drives set up as follows: 2X80 GIG on RAID Stripe 0 for a total of 160 gig array on that array is a 20 gig boot/os partition and a 140 gig program/game partition. I also have a 13gig on another channel that holds about 12 gigs of mp3s.

Can't boot from floppy

Had a new HD installed by a local computer shop. Due to a problem with an application unrelated to the HD install, I have been directed to start the system using my old Win98 Boot Disk. Currently running Win2000Pro SP-3 as my OS.

cfs2 wont play

running 2k pro on fat32 file system , after down loading cfs2 from brand new disk ,it prompts for correct cd, says it cant locate? Movies and videos will play though. cd rom s are a compaqcrd-8322-b and a 32x12x48 elements silverbullett burner any suggestions?.

I just bought an ATI 9700 pro video card. The piece of s#!+ doesn't work on some games on my Win2K box. Anyone experience this hl. exe has generated some errors and window will now close. ? Sucks when you think you've gotten something cool and is ends up being a disaster.

I have a very strange problem something NO ONE seems to have an answer for. I just bought the new ASUS A7N8X mobo with the nForce 2 chipset. I install a fresh copy of XP and when i go to get my windows updates it tells me there are none available for this machine at this time.

Where's the bug submission form in Win2K

Hi Gang, I'm not sure if it's just for Internet Explorer or if it was for the OS as well, but I do recall coming across a bug feedback form in sort part of Windows or IE. My bug is related to Task Manger in Win2K Sp3 so if the form is only for IE then that would suck.

Question about cardreader/writer

I have newly bought a 6 in 1 cardreader/writer. under W2k pro i must install it's software. but under XP pro SP1 is that necessary. Right?. but why sometimes when i boot up the Pc then It wont light on and the Drive wont appear under the Explorer ?.
