There's one video-card related problem that I might as well address: With Windows XP, my geforce 2 GTS configuration menu is missing. . . (I'm using the latest detonator 3 drivers for win2k) and is probably unavailable because of the hardware management facelift.

Laptop keyboard not responding in games

I have an IBM T21 Thinkpad with Windows NT 4 installed, and I cannot figure out how to get the keyboard to work in pretty much every DirectX game I have. When the laptop is docked and I use the regular 101-key keyboard, there's no problem.

Seems that the Athlon XP/2000 GF3 Combo has trouble with MAX PAYNE Right click on the MAX PAYNE icon on your desktop, go to properties then the compatibilty tab and select WIN98 and check run in compatility mode.

Fighting Force crashes ;-(

Does anyone know why Fighting Force immediately crashes under Windows 2000 ? I suspect it has something to do with EIDOS's ESCAPE player, which installs two, apparently NT-unfriendly files, WINSTR.

Getting 3dfx's Glide API to work under Windows XP

Well, almost. I have found a workaround that enables Glide-equivalent performance under Windows XP using OpenGL, including RC1 and above. At the moment, I will supply specific instructions, but I soon will provide drivers on my site.

Gamespy Arcade just locks up with rc1

Gamespy arcade worked perfectly untill i installed winxp rc1. when i try to launch or join a server it just hangs. . . All the games i use with gamespy arcade work just fine on their own. wtf? anyone else got this problem? i've tried compatibility mode, uninstalling and reinstalling the games and gamespy arcade.

I've been trying to get TrainSim to work for the last couple of days, and everything works fine, apart from the sound - the speech in the intro rides is echoing, and general sound throughout the game keeps stuttering and clicking, and slows the game down.

Using Win2KPro. Have not yet downloaded SP1, SP2, or the MS Compatibility file(s). Only problems with move from 98SE to 2KPro have, so far, been a scanner exe. file sucking up resources, and a Logitech driver that caused a reboot when coming back from sleep mode.

Hi, I recently installed prince of persia 3D on a windows 2000 system and got the following error when I tried starting the program. pop3d. exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows you will need to restart the program.

Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith problems

I can't get either of them to run. The Lucas Arts console starts up, but when you click the Run button, it says I need to install DirectX 5. 0. It gives me two options: install and cancel. Install gives me a can't find the CD error, and cancel just exits back to the Lucas Arts menu.

Hi! Actually I have 2 questions. One is that my opengl game does not work in HL. I have installed RC1 2505 ok, with the default drivers. But HL complains that my video card does not support opengl. I have a Geforce 1 DDR (Annihilator pro).

beta 2401 and q3!! ERRR!!!

I installed Q3 from the CD. Worked fine. When I run Q3 and try to switch to any diff video mode, it attempts it, acts like it is almost there, then back to desktop with no quake 3 and GAMMA UP THE YING YANG! What the hell? I ran a copy of q3 I had on my HD with video at 1024X760 and loaded fine.
