Playing movies in W2K with DirectX 8.0a

I am running into some issues with my W2K laptop when running Worms World Party, Red Alert 2, Age of Kings and StarLancer. The symptom is always the same, the intro movies (and cut-scenes) are playing sound but no video.

When I try single player mode and adjust the Brightness, it works just fine. However when I try to do it in Holomatch, it is only slightly adjustable on the first few bars and then the rest of the way up it remains dark and unplayable.

Trouble with EA Sports F1 200

Has anyone played EA Sports F1 2000? I tried to run it on win2k1; the game starts fine and lets me select the driver and track. However, when it tries to load the race, the program simply quits. I aslo tried to run the game under compatibility mode, but it still doesn't work.

I now have Windows XP RC1 and just out of curiosity installed DOOM (which I still don't mind to play every once in a while) I ran through the setup leaving everything as default, in win2k everything defaulted to no sound, ...

Well, almost. I have found a workaround that enables Glide-equivalent performance under Windows XP using OpenGL, including RC1 and above. At the moment, I will supply specific instructions, but I soon will provide drivers on my site.

i have found the way to get the english version of nba live 2001 to work with no cd in win 2000. simple, go to freedrive and type in username:ntcompatible password:ntcompatible download the cab version of the windowsxp application compatibility toolkit.

When Im playing half life or counterstrike the game will jsut stop & I haveto ctrl=alt=del out ot task manager & reenter the game again which is really annoying. Athlon 750mhz GFMX 12. 41 DX 8. 0a Cheers.

I updated the game to latest version and I get this error: An privlieged instruction was executed at address 005c7c14 Click ok to terminate the application I get that without using the compatibility tool but using the compatibility tool I get MSVCRT.
