"This device cannot start" error on com ports

i am having a problem with my com1 and com3. they both share the same irq, so i changed com3's irq. when i restart, i went into device manager. com3 has an exclamation mark next to it and when i looked at the properties, it says This device cannot start.

Windows 2000 Service Pack 1

Just downloaded W2K service pack 1 from the MDSN site (you must be a member) so thought I would post a message before I upgrade. The download was 190 megs but not problem on a T-1 Well I'll be back if everything goes well and post an update.

VOODOO 3 and Mpegs screw up screen???

OK I know that is a bad topic, but here is the problem. I have a voodoo3 2000 and I am using the latest drivers. This is how you recreate the problem if you have a voodoo 3. Get in to Unreal Tournament play for a min or two, doesn't really matter.

Well, miro finally released a patch that will solve the Hibernate problem. . . but, there is another problem. . . they are releasing the patch in several languages, accept english. i don't get it at all.

This helped me get my system stable

Just a little thing i'd like to share with you people. I used to have 6hdds in my computer. When i droped one my system got all stable. I had to little power left in my power supply. Just something you might want to check over if you have sudden shutdowns that are unexplainable.

Restart & Shutdown to Black Screen

This is a weird one. When I click on start, then shutdown, and choose either restart the computer or shut down the computer, it goes through all the motions that it should and then just sits there and gives me a blank screen.

alright, my friend has a k6-2 500 on a gigabyte board(not sure exactly which one) with an ali chipset i believe. well heres the specs exactly: k6 2 500( was k6 2 400) gigabyte mobo(he also got a new mobo a while back, because the agp quit working on his old one) 3d prophet(geforce 256) w/ detonator 5.

My Floppy Drive Won't Refresh!

Ok for some lame reason since I repaired my Win2k using the install disk my floppy drive won't ever refresh the files. If I insert another disk and refresh the window with F5 or close the listing in A:\ and reopen it it will still list the same files as the ones in the first floppy i've inserted since bootup.

USR Big Picture Webcam getting on my nerves!

Has anyone had luck with the USR Big Picture webcam? I've had zero luck. NT 4. 0 Driver from 3Com doesn't work. Have tried various Bt848 drivers, Hauppage drivers and to no avail. Danka to all Sys info Asus P299 P3 450 192RAM Voodoo3 3000 Memorex CDR 622 Matsumi 40x SB 128 Win2k Pro Retail.

After installing W2K when you go into explorer and browse the drives and folders and the icons and file names in each direcory are defaulting to Large Icons. I myself prefer to have the details button checked for each folder.

Leaked win2k voodoo3 betas

download them while you can from here I got it from 3dfxgamers. com downloaded and installed them. They are sweet! Version 1. 01. 2 or some crap. THey have replaced the old installer with this fancy one that looks like office2k's installer.
