That cute shut down screen

I am running Whistler build 2296 Professional. Where is that Cute graphical Shut Down Menu that has been shown in the reviews? Did they rip it out of build 2296? Am I missing a setting? Does it only appear in Personal edition, or do I have to be in workgroup mode? I know the start screen only shows up in workgroup ...

A7V + AGP4x + Nvidia + Win2k = Fixed!!

Just loaded in the new beta bios ver 1005. 03e. Finally, I can run my Geforce at AGP 4x and it's perfectly stable. I have all the default options loaded in the BIOS w/optimal settings and everything's sweet.

Whistler problem with Matrox G450= no 3d acceleration

Tried latest win2k drivers but no luck. This is Whistler pro build 2296. any ideas? I know it is still beta but would like to get it working Celeron II 566@875 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1. 01, 128 Pc100, Matrox G450 32 DH, SBlive Value, Supra Express 56i ISA, Win98FE.

Hacked Raid66 & Whistler

Has anybody been able to install Whistler with the Promise Fasstrak 66 card? All other os's install just fine but Whistler just hangs after it says Starting Windows Whistler during the text based portion of setup.

OK, when booting Whistler on my Athlon 700 I've been getting this STOP 0x0000001E Unhandled K_mode exception (albeit not my PII 400). Further, win2k Server has absolutely no such problem, so it isn't like I have any hardware win2k supports or whatever.

Whistler Now Or Wait?

Just thought I'd post my own views of Whistler. I loaded ver 2296 and ran it for a few days. Overall it has a lot of promise, its quick, its semi-stable(I say this because its not fully developed yet and I did manage to crash it a few times) and it has some very nice features that are missing from Win2k.

Has anyone seen any motherboards with the AMD 760 chipsets for sale yet? And DDR ram? I'm planning on a major upgrade in the coming months but I don't want to upgrade to obslete stuff. .

well i just upgraded one of my older computers to win2k and now i can't find win2k compatible drivers for my Info Imagereader Express flatbed scanner. after reading around i heard that Avison (or something like that) made drivers that would work with it.

Lexmark 1000 Color Jetprinter Under W2K

I can't get this printer to work under Windows 2000. Does anyone know where I can get hacked or tweaked versions of drivers? I really don't want to go out and buy another printer just because Lexmark wont support there damn products in this new O/S.

Hi there all, I noticed on the comapible game list on this site that Need for Speed 3 & 4 where marked non-compatible. I have got 3,4 & Porsche Unleased running under Whistler. Someone might want to change them to compatible.

TNT2 WINDOWS BOOT PROBLEM

i just installed win2k and when it starts up all i get is a black screen, after the load screen. If i boot up in VGA mode every thing is fine, does anyone know how to fix this? btw, it also does this if i install 98 fresh again.

Just wondering if anybody could help explain to me what exactly is the AT Bus Clock setting in the Bios for. I have a Gigabyte Supersocket 7 mobo and it has these options: Auto Sync Bypass CLK2/3 CLK2/4 CLK2/5 CLK2/6 7.

It's 2296 here and yes it's great, but there is one thing for sure that 128 mb ram is not enough, at fresh boot there is only 26 mb physical ram free. I tried 2dmark2000, it results good, near to 9x and far better than 2000 but while testing my ibm dta-100 drive works like crazy, never seen it like that before, and ...

Hey, My friend beta-tests whistler and he has problems with his Athlon-based computer. With basig AGP-driver every direct3d-games just stops responding and there is nothing to do but reboot. If he uses VIAs 4.
