HP1100A parallel printer/scanner

Printing works fine under Win2k, as well as doing a manual copy; however, the scanner piece just does not want to work. Installed all of HP's software and updates(from their webpage including their Win2k scanner patch), and nothing seems to work.

Hard disk restarting itself at 5:43pm and 5:43am..wierd

Well, ive been having this encounter for quite awhile now and it has really started to bother me. The problem is, every day at 5:43pm and 5:43am, my hard disk turns off and then turns on again. I think this is around the time I originally installed windows2000, and am wondering why it is doing this.

I'm overheating like hell!

Both my processor and video card overheat when I play quake, run 3D MAX (or any other high power games or programs). They are actually hot, I like my coffee cooler than that! I have an athlon 550, and a viper 770, Nothing is overclocked.

Weird mousewheel problem....

I have a Logitech cordless desktop, the first sort that hit the market. Now I have run into a strange problem, the wheels scroll function on the mouse works on what seems to be a random basis. If I put fresh batteries in, the wheel usually works for about three minutes and then it stops.

I can't add a new user!

I add a new user in the users and p***words thing, but when i try to log in, it tells me that user profile was not found,. . . what do i do? (it knows the user name and p***word, just doesn't have the files needed to use it) the folder in the documents & settings folder isn't made! what do i do? BTW i have win2k pro.

I bought the above-mentioned drive really really cheap and i hope my problems aren't a signal as to why it was so cheap. The drive came wiht Adaptec EZCDC 4. 02 (i think thats the right version number.

A few weeks ago I gave beta 1 a nice whirl and was, for the most part, VERY impressed. I was running a Celeron 333 overclocked to 500 at the time and my box had (still has in fact) 256 megs of ram. My big complaint at the time was the larger amount of ram the OS used over win2k.

Strange sound and shutdown problem!

Hi, i have installed win2k pro and sp1, but i get problems when i shut down. When i go to shut down windows does'nt do anything, it just sits there, after about 10 minutes it then shuts down, also the sound will work on startup but sometime cuts out half way thuough the startup tune.

I am trying to update the Highpoint raid bios on this motherboard, i have downloaded all the files needed, but when i try to update the bios it asks me to identify the BIOS used, i cant find out it doesnt match anything on the chip near the dimm slots (the raid chip) how can i find out.

i recently reformatted my hard drives and started anew with my system. i changed some of the physical configuration within my box, as well as reinstalling everything, so i'm not sure where this problem lies, and i'm hoping someone can pointme in one direction or another.
