Windows Whistler 2416 Question

I was trying to install WinWhistle 2416 and ran into a problem. I managed to get setup to copy the temp files to my hard drive, but on the reboot, setup continued to load and then stalled. The message displayed when it stalled was 'Setup is Starting Windows Whistler.

Just ordered Technet Plus/Windows XP?

I just purchased a Technet Plus subscription so that I can get the Windows XP betas. My question is. . . now that I've ordered this, how do I get my copy of Whistler? Do I have to wait for my DVD to arrive, or is there somewhere I can go to download it? Thanks Jeff Knight.

I can feel the speed difference of my IBM 75GXP. It's really slower than in winME. Even by installing the latest promise driver, it didn't help. Sisoft sandra shows c: (winME) at 22000+ score and e: (win2k) 12000+.

Will Win2K run faster if i put it on its own hard drive alon

i have a 7G and new 30G hard drive. Someone said in the past to put my os on one hard drive all by its self and put all my program files on another and my computer will scream. Has anybody heard of this? I need to know if I need to put the hard drives on seperate ide cables or put them on the same? ant truth to this?.

Which OS is better for Cd-Burning?

Ok, which OS is better for burning CD's, Windows 2000 or Windows ME? Speed wise which is better and which will give me the least amount of coasters? I just bought online a Plextor 10/12/32 Cd-recorder which should get here next week, now I want to know what OS to use with it.

Inefficient Whistler Coding

How many of you think that Whistler runs as fast as Window 2000 on your same machines with the burden of new themes/stuff. . . Do you feel that Whistler/Windows coding is inefficient? Or Microsoft is adding tons of code without optimizing it.

ACPI disabled in Windows 2000, How can I get CPU cooler in i

I disabled ACPI because of the IRQ sharing problems, so everything runs fine now. But my CPU used to be about 28C idle, and now it's never below 46C idle. Quite a difference! CPU Idle doesn't work AT ALL for me, and other programs don't seem to support NT or 2K.

Well, I just went out and purchased a new Abit KT7a, 1 gig tbird, and a case. First thing I did was install win98 for the first partition, and win2k Pro on the second partition to allow for dual booting.

Well, With the 7. 17 drivers, i was able to view video perfectly on my tv, now, with the WHQL 6. 62's I can no longer select SVIDEO output. Card is a geforce 2 gts 64, win2k pro Any advice? thanks in advance.
