Does anyone know how to get rid of the 'For testing purposes only' display in xp 2428, I know that you can lock web items but this makes the icons look ugly, is there any other way? Thanks in advance

Need MX300 W2K Drivers From Aureal.com - HELP!

Before Aureal’s support page closed, they had a beta version + DOC file to help with the installation of the vortex2 drivers. I used to have them burned on CD, but I don’t anymore and they where the only ones that seemed to work very well for me when I had W2K installed.

Windows XP 2428 Doesn't start.

I just started to install Windows XP build 2428 on my machine and it won't get past the Starting Windows Whistler part in the non-GUI setup. I've had this problem with earlier builds, 2416 and 2257. Beta 1 (2296) was the only version that actually booted on my machine.

When i log on to xp 2428 the msconifg program loads up. I had previously changed some settings but now when i click normal and reboot i get a boot. ini error. Then when i load another os, i replace the boot.

Except for the obvious, which is to upgrade to a new card, is there anyway I can get games to recognize my voodoo1 as a display adapter under win2k. I have downloaded the glide and the openGL drivers posted on this site.

Whenever I run a 3D app such as 3DMark or Counterstrike after a while I will get yellow lines all over my screen and then it will lock up in OpenGL or Direct 3D. I've tried so many different things that it would take an hour to list them all here.

How will XP work with older cards?

I gotta question. . I am an avid gamer + music mixer, and I have an Aureal Vortex 2 SuperQuad 2500, but Aureal is long gone out of business. How does Microsoft plan to deal with this? All the Win2K drivers for it are beta WDM and don't work in many games or A3D apps.

Not detecting hard drive

When I try doing a complete install of W2K, it gives a message that no hard drive was detected. This pops up when I press enter to continue with installation right at the beginning. I know it's working because I'm running Windows 98 on it right now.

hi, i've am using win2k pro with my ibm 45g 75gxp harddisk. i currently have 3 partion, all fat 32, and they are c: 26375mb d: and e: 8784mb i am thinking of coverting to NTFS, do u think it is worth? ( i don't mind of formating) my system is currently dual boot with win2k and winme.
