CAV CD-R/RW, the next Gen?

Gimme a timeframe of the first appearance , if ever, of such a CAV (32Xmax, 40Xmax) CD-R/RW drive. Given the following problems and limitations on current generation: 1. Why is the changing from a writing to a reading operation on a CD-R/RW drive is so slow, often more than five seconds? 2.

i know i have already placed this question in the win98/me area, but that place seems kinda deserted and i'm kinda in a rush to find the answers. . so please anybody kind enough to help me out, please go to the win98/me thread and see my post concerning VXD errors in win98 thanks.

HP ScanJet 2100C - got Win2k?

Has anyone been able to get this scanner to work rightr in Win2K? The install app closes itself with the 'OS not supported error, and a manual install gives nothing but a process that pulls 100% processor usage and a little movement from the scanner.

Hey all, I just purchased the AMD K7 Thunderbird 1. 2GHZ processor (not the 266FSB), and I'm trying to decide between the Abit KT7 RAID and the Abit KT7A RAID motherboards - what the hell is the difference, besides the $20.

Will XP run on this okay?

Win2k Probs (performace and bluescreen)

Hi all Ive two probs with my system, Firstly when you shutdown you get 0x0000009f (Driver_power_state_failure) Ive checked my drivers etc and cant find anything mad but Im not really going to do another reinstall of win2k to find the issue.

Just trying to update my drivers but when I do the update, I get:- An error occurred during the installation of the device The system cannot find the file specifed. Whats wrong? how can I find out what file its talking about? now when I try to reinstall the old drivers I get the same.

XP 2454 and tv cards

I'm using leadtek vc100 capture card (bt878) Under me or 2k it works great, but with xp, first it worked but was using %50 cpu, then got mad, now if I click any button at tv software , xp resets. . .

My hardware is getting pretty long in the tooth and I'm thinking about upgrading my processor and motherboard (currently I have a o/c'ed Celeron 400 (to 500) on an Abit BX6 Rev. 2 motherboard). I was looking at getting an Athlon Thunderbird 1000 or 1100 Socket A on an Abit KT7-RAID Motherboard.
