Is There any sound card that works in win2k really well ?

i am wondering if there is any soundcard out there that works well in win2k , has very good win2k support with drivers updated a lot , not any issues like the sb live with *cracking* , good qaulity sound in games and music , not full of extras when you install the drivers like sb lives , will not have issues with DX 8.

4.32 4-1 drivers causing my hard reboots when changing disks

i have a very weird & annoying problem with XP 2495. When i open the cd draw & change disks, every 5 or so times i do this the machine just reboots itself spontaniously, which is extremely annoying. I installe dhte VIA 4.

boot is getting slower

ok beta2 was booting slow with 2475 per n pro boot was very fast, it was even faster than tweaked winme with 1 sec. but with 2481 pro it looked like booting a little bit slower same with 85, 86 n now with 2494 personal boot is nearly 10 seconds slower nothing different I installed all tweaked anyone else noticed th ...

XP pre-RC1 upgrade to RC1

I just wanna know if it's ok to upgrade an older pre-RC1 build of XP to RC1. I heard that it's not recommended, but how bad can such an upgrade really be?? I don't feel like starting from scratch all over again and I would like to upgrade to the RTM from RC1/2 if possible, not do a clean install again.

Abit ST6-RAID

Anyone got any opinions on the Abit ST6-RAID? I'm looking at upgrading, and it seems to have some sweet features. One thing that was slightly disapointing was that the maximum amount of ram is only 512MB.

how to use direct cd with XP?

have installed 2495, and have same old probs on direct cd. I like burning using it, but it doesnt work at all. Im using easy cd creator 5, any ideas? ps i also installed latest via 4. 32 drivers and it keeps saying new hardware found, via ide, but where do i point it to to install?.

Win2k Setup won't let me install!

I am trying to setup Windows 2000 on an Intergraph machine that was previously running NT Workstation. I am able to get to the screen that allows you to modify/create partitions, but it states that my hard disk is new or has been erased, or that the computer is running an OS that is incompatible with Windows 2000.

AMD 760MP chipset...

I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the 760MP chipset, now that Tyan's is out and MSI/Microstar has one on the way. I'm gonna say it looks cool, but also take it with a grain of salt. This is AMD's first SMP chipset, so it would be wise to remeber that the first try is not always the best.

Sorry about the wrong subject. . I have a IBM 75gxp 45GB, and partitioned to C:\15GB, D:\15GB, E:\15GB. C and D are NTFS and E is FAT32. I had Win2k on C: before and something when wrong, then I formatted my C: and reinstall Win2k.

Hi Guys, Recently I was looking at the screenshots of Windows XP. I noticed that the scrollbars in Internet Explorer are not skinned and are plain. Though, this is a very small issue but, I believe consistency in UI is very important.

Seems I've always encountered problems with WinXP and DivX. . . - video being upside down - video not playing - the last avi file played always being in use even after media player is close - and now with 2495, none of the codecs i've tried work.

Anyone got 2495? I tell ya it's not much use to me since you now have to activate before you can even log on. You can still get into the os via safemode with command prompt but replacing winlogon from 2481 isn't the solution.
