Help! Which Mobo and Processor

I like to upgrade my System, but do not now what type of Motherboard and Processor to buy. I have access to the following Manufacturers and Types. AMD & Thunderbird Socket A AMD Athalon Slot A Pentium 4 Socket 423 Intel Chipset Celeron PII, III & VIA ABIT, ASUS, CHAINTECH, EPOX, GIGABITE, INTEL & SUPERMICRO.

Hi I was experiencing some network slowness on my home network, one machine with XP RC1/WinME dual-boot, the other computer runs just ME. I decided to play around with some of the Services in XP, and now I can't connect to the internet at all.

Anyone using a Radeon All In Wonder with RC1? I can't seem to load the latest AIW drivers due to some update needed for DX, which I can't install either. Without this Tribes 2 etc. won't start. Thanks.

I am currently using Win NT4. 0 with an Epson projector. The projector has an air mouse for remote operation, but I would like to use a standard mouse also. I have two comports but I am not sure how to configure one to be used as a serial mouse port.

ok so whats the good word on the best approach to the SBLive in WinXP? is it best to just use the drivers that are installed when you install the OS or should i update to the 3300's? whats your opinions?

Hey, I've deleted and had windows re-detect the devices but it says there is still a problem and I can't get it to work. So what you're telling me is I should reinstall my OS just cause I unplugged all my devices clean the dust out and put them back in.

GeForce 2 Ultra refresh rate problem

I am hoping someone here can help. I have been posting all over, and haven't found a fix. Problem: Win2k doesn't seem to use my monitor timings, and only offers 60-75hz, even at low resolutions. System: Asus CUSL2-C, 1007 BIos (latest) P3 1 Gighz 256meg PC133 Ram Creative Geforce 2 Ultra 64meg 12.

yet another ata100 related issue. . . sorry while benching with sandra 2001te i received the very common poor performance. . . it was suggested turning write verify off to improve things. . . how do i do this?.

Administrator login disappeared!

I have no clue how this happened but as soon as I created an additional login to use my administrator login has completely disappeared. Has this happened to anybody else? What the heck is going on?? How do I get it back?.

This horrible little icon repeatedly pops up in my tray every time I launch OutlookExpress DESPITE the fact I configure Outlook to refrain from doing so. I've had this problem with WinME and Win2k as well.

Periodic Hangs Running CDROM Apps

I have noticed that when running some apps and games they will hang every several mins for about 5 seconds, then resume as normal. 2 immediate examples are watching large movies streamed off the CDROM and playing the game XCOM Enforcer.

NTFS question please

Ok I have used the search but was not able to find exactly what I need. I am going to start capturing video. Now I have been told that NTFS is the best for that but will my games etc work well under NTFS? Will the system run slower?.
