Does anybody know if people or companies who subscribe to MSDN will have to do the activation for windows xp. I thought i read somewhere that they will turn that feature off for MSDN subscriber. .

RC2 Upgrade from RC1

Hey all is it possible to upgrade from RC1 to RC2. I've currently got RC1 installed and its finally working stable and now RC2 is out. Can I upgrade or will I have to do a clean install. Thanks PrinceAli0.

Since the nvidia refreshrate fix program doesn´t work with XP is there any way of manually manipulate the refreshrates through the registry?

i can`t get drivers to load for high point dma66 controller on an abit be6 mother board i downloaded windows 2000 drivers from abit i then installed the drivers to a floppy rebooted the system hit f6 when prompted to install the drivers i still get the same stop error message has anyone been able to get this mother ...

I was reading around here and someone said that I don't need to install the 4-in-1 drivers for my chipset. All I need to do is update the AGP one. How do I do that? I run the setup as usual and I don't get the screen where I get to choose the AGP speed.
Problems with Riva TNT in XP

I have a Diamond Viper V550 vdeo card based on the original Riva TNT chipset and I can't seem to get Direct3D hardware acceleration to work in WinXP. The closest I can get is with the supplied drivers but I have to laod DxDiag, disable D3D, reboot, reenable it and it will work but only until the next reboot.
Will ATA 133 be much faster than ATA 66 or ATA 100? What doe

I am wondering if ATA 133 HD will be worth going to when you already have a ATA100 HD ? Also with these new hard drivers will seek time go lower with these hard drives or just tranfer rates ? And will the speed difference be noticeable by feel ? Thanks

Monster Sound MX300 problems

I am using a Diamond Monster Sound MX300 under XP RC2 and I am having trouble with it. Every time I try to copy files from one drive to another or if I search for files, all sound stops and the only way to get it back is to restart.
P3 800 and P4 1.5GHz have same performence?!!!?!?!?

just today our neighbour got his new computer: Intel MB P4 1. 5 GHz 8) 128 MB 400MHz RDRAM 8) Nvidia GEFORCE 2 32 MB running WIN 98 SE. well, i got my hand on that computer and i was kind of dissapointed.

I installed XP RC2, and it ran fine. . . . for a while. I added my Skymedia internet card and it would lock up when loading as it starts to play the sound. Take the SBLive out and it runs fine and vice versa.

Help! The NTFS format in Windows 2000 setup freezes at 75%!!

Hey guys i am frustrated. I am trying to load windows 2000 professional on my system. I made the 4 boot disks and everything went smoothly on loading the first 3 but once it prompts to format my drive in NTFS and i start the process it stops at 75%.

I have heard that 256 megs is the sweet spot for Win2k. I have 192 megs now and was going to add another 256 megs. Will that be too much?.

NT compatible USB CD-RW drive needed

I need a portable, external USB CD burner compatible with Windows NT and can't find any. I found a few parallel port CD burners but, I need to feel comfortable that there aren't any such USB drives before I give on up on them.
