win2k lockups

hi! i have windows 2000 pro, SP2, a kt7a motherboard with a duron and a Geforce2 GTS. i get lockups, and i cant make them go away. . . the video locks, and the hard disk and mp3 player keeps going until the end of the track.

ok, i put in a Promise DMA66 Controller card a while back and everything's awesome and fine with it. i have 2 harddrives, one 15. 5gig drive split into a 6. 0 and a 9. 5, and one 20. 5gig drive. the 15.

SB LiveWare echo, cant get rid of it

Hey I installed LiveWare on XP a while back and it worked fine but it kept screwing up and I couldnt choose a different effect. Anyway to make a long story short its set to the concert hall setting so theres a constant echo.

Off Topic: temperatures of an AMD TBird 1400

I´m a bit worried about the temperatures of my CPU. During maximum load, the temperature goes up to 60°C. Don´t know if it would go any higher since I´ve set up Motherboard Monitor to warn me when reaching that temp.

Lo folks, When I had Windows 98, I had a little patch which allowed me to read Audio CD's and look at the WAV files on the CD. Is there such a patch, or is it possible to enable the same thing with Windows 2000 or Windows XP? Many thanks.

Internet Problems after long periods of idle time

My internet seems to be slow after I let my computer idle for a couple of hours. It take about 5 times as long to load a page and I get alot more page not able to be displayed errors. Has anyone ever heard anything like this or experienced this before.

Butterfly Riva TNT & Windows 2000

i have a Riva TNT video card and i can't make it work on windows 2000. The manufacturer of the videocard is Butterfly, and it has code: AGPTNTK-16M. In win98, winMe i use regular Detonator drivers, but in win2000 i can't set the display to 256 colors or more.

Hi i am using windows 2000 pro with a geforce2 gts gfx card. I currently use the 6. 47 detonator drivers (i kno they r a lil old but they run really well on my system - better than some of the more recent ones too).

Overclocking under XP RC1...

I'm just wondering how XP users have fared with oc'ing your cpu's, specifically Intel, but AMD is okay too. I got the VP6 and 900MHz was the highest I got with my brand new CPU's. Of course I haven't tried everything yet, but I'd like to know if you guys have had to throttle it back from using Win2k to XP.

I just bought a Yamaha 20x10x40, and the box says that it has Safeburn Is this in any way related to Burnproof? I had another burner and it had lots of coasters coming out. So I want something that will reduce the ratio.

is there any way to install a driver for a polariod colorshot printer under windows xp? it tells me that the driver is not compattable with windows xp, is there a way to trick the installer to think it is running under win 9x, or a way to change the driver file so i can use it, there are no current and will not be ...

I have an odd problem. Currently, when I initially turn on my machine and boot into XP it just locks up for not reason. Keyboard does not function and mouse stops moving. After a cold Restart everything runs fine.

Hey there. Ok let me start off by saying that I want stability above all other features. I have an abit Ka7-100 now, with a 750 Athalon, and its horrible. Only certain PCI slots will take cards without IRQ conflicts etc.

compaq ij300 printer not compatible..

I recently installed 2000,a nd since cannot get my printer to work/recognize. Is there not a way to make it compatible? The printer is a Compaq ij300, and of course Compaq won't help me either. Appreciate any help one could give me.
