While installing adminpak. msi (from the Windows 2000 Server CD), I got an error message saying this is not compatible with Windows XP. Well, I need to use this package of admin tools. . . is there a work around? A new adminpak.

DVD drive sucks life out of machine

Help! Whenever I leave a DVD in the drive (Lite-On), the system bogs down. It seems to relate to the disk spinning up, yet I am not using the drive. Task Manager does not show anything out of the ordinary.

Hi ya, Has anyone managed to get their Sonic Fury to work in WindowsXP? I tried installing the Win2K drivers, but all I get is a nasty shrill when music is played. Anyone know of any drivers I can use? James.

i, I have a few q. about XP. 1. How could I solve one user could use his/her own program ONLY? 2. The next problem is that Getright and Icq doesn't work when the file tranfer starts. The system is rebooting.

Win XP beta 2 and Hercules Game Theater XP

I just installed the Hercules GT in my computer. It works fine in win me and win 2000 but doesn't seem to work in win XP. Tried the default win XP drivers but the sound quality was terrible. Upgraded to the win 2000 Hercules drivers and I now get a high pitched screeching sound when I play any type of sound.

Asus A7V 1008 BIOS?

I've got the 1008 BIOS off Asus site, but I'd like to know what all it updates besides what asus says. I've heard about it enabling raid functions and supporting newer AMD processors, but I've been unable to confirm this.

hardware access for Power Users in Win2k

I'm running Win2k, and I'm having problems accessing some hardware when I login as a Power User. If I run Nero 5. 5, or Sound Forge/CD Architect, I can't access my Yamaha CD-burner in those programs.

Ok guys, ive posted this before but no reply, anyway, I have a creatie pc dvd encore 1240e with the dxr3 board. Ever since i started using win 2k, i had a probelm in that, even with the latest beta win 2k drivers, i cant put my system into suspend/standby (this is quite important on my system).

IRQ and win xp

for some reason i have 6 cards on the same IRQ while I still got like 4 free irqs left. No real conflicts seem to happend but i'm wondering if it can effect the performance of the cards. . . I tried lots of things but nothing seems to work.

This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen but while playing Madden 2002 my joystick just won't work. It will be perfectly fine, I chose a play and then it quits working. It gets power, Windows recongizes it still and it works in the test area in the Sidewinder properties.

Did anyone get the hercules gamesurround fortissimo to work in winxp? I tried build 2530 once and my soundcard didn't work with the default winxp drivers and also with the hercules win2k drivers. Can anyone help me?.
