Barracuda IVs INCOMPATIBLE with HPT370 RAID controller!

I thought I'd warn you guys that there are SERIOUS issues with the Seagate Barracuda IV hard disks and the HPT370 RAID controller. Using a RAID 0 configuration the RAID 0 will perform almost 50% SLOWER than using a single drive!!!!!! I have tested this using HPT bios and driver combos 1.

Monitor refresh rates in XP

Hi, I'm dual booting 98/XP & in 98se I can set the refresh rate to optimal, yet in XP the only options in Display properties are individual refresh values + defaults to 75hz. If I try to up the refresh rate then the display is re-sized? My monitor is an Iiyama Pro451 which can do 160hz @ 1024x768 & 110hz @ 1280x102 ...

just today I saw under hardware that ATI TV Wonder is now working under XP using the regular driver. . . . . has any1 actually confirmed this?? because I can't get it to work by either clean install or upgrade from 2k.

USB modem BSOD, fine on reboot, what's going on here?

Ever since I installed my USB ADSL modem in XP I get bluescreens on completed startup. The weird thing is that when I reboot everything's fine (except for running Scandisk, of course). It seems that a cold boot from powerup does something to my system which doesn't happen in a hot reset.

Win TV Problem

Hi All When I went to use my Win TV Card today there were no channels saved, so I rescanned for new channels, I can see it finding channels in the TV Window but when the scan finishes there is nothing listed! Any Ideas on whats wrong? I called Hauppage and there answer was Oh that hardware is supported, it will work.

problem with audiohq speaker option + sb live 5.1

Is anyone else getting this problem? I just installed the new XP drivers released by Creative, and whenever I try to open up the Speakers option in the AudioHQ program my system will crank away for a short bit then report that 'Creative Sound Mixer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Question: does anyone else have the problem with their SBLIVE VALUE that all 4 speakers dont come on with the new drivers? All 4 work fine in win2k. . . but. . yea. . arent all workin in WinXP.

I have 5 of these scanners to support- Great fast sheetfed color scanner. No XP support, and no stand alone NT driver - though the list says it is supported native. . . Logitech sold it to Storm, Storm went out.

Creative/Soundblaster website(s) list a bunch of driver updates for XP, some avail now, others due END-NOVEMBER (URL below)!! (and HOW long would they have had access to XP to write / test drivers??) I have SB PCI64 (ES1370) which has NO driver listing at all.

I have 1 big problem with WinXP. . . before XP, i was using W2k. . . Q3 under W2k (detonator 6. 18) scores around 115 FPS on my machine, but now with WinXP i have around 66 FPS. . . I wasn't doing anything with Q3 configuration.

Whats the best modem for speed?

I will shortly be getting unlimited hours and unlimited downloads:D, (currently stuck with 150hrs ;( ). So then i will be online pretty much all-day-everyday, and i think i may have to get a better modem, currently i have a Lucent LT Winmodem 33k.

Pinnacle Studio PCTV PCI don't work well on Windows XP

Please, someone could help me? I have a Pinnacle Studio PCTV PCI TV Turner and it doesn't work well on Windows XP. What I have for now is, installing the original CD Driver (Version 4. 0), and setting the TV Turner on Force Primary I can view TV, but if I move a window or anything the image flicker.

Wierd problem

Ok. . . . yesterday the fan on my Geforce card was making a grinding noise. I took the card out, removed the fan, cleaned it up a bit, put the fan back on and reinstalled the card. When I went to turn the computer back on, the hard drive lights and the CD-ROM drive came on and never shut back off.

Hi ya, Urgently requesting info about the above subject hardware, their drivers and associated apps/software. I know for the fact that DirectCD (bundled with my HP 9150i CD-Writer) is NOT supported in WinXP, but any info on updates etc.
