Can't complete a defrag without system freezing

For some odd reason i can't defrag my D: (WD 5400 60 gb ATA100) without my system freezing. Every other drive is fine but that drive. I did a quick format and it still ****s up. The drive has been scanned and there are no file or sector errors on the drive either.

TwinView Broken in 23.11

Hi Guys After quite a lot of research I have found that twinview is broken in 23. 11 and I back with 21. 83 drivers. When you apply clone mode. sometimes, it wont apply it and sometimes, if you apply it, it will change the resolution of your monitor and display on tv is in 8bits.

SoundBlaster Live! XP Drivers -- question

I'm using the native XP drivers for my SoundBlaster Live! Value. Most things work fine. However, I'm trying to do videocapture with 48khz audio (my InstantDVD capture box uses the LineIn of the soundcard to capture audio).

Western digital or IBM hard disk ?

I need to buy a hard disk but i dont know which one. Heard some stuff about IBM, that they are fast and die often, as for WD my friend has WD20gb hard and it died once he returned to the store they fixed it(as u can fix something here) and it died again.

SB Live ! & Wink2K Installing help

I am running Windows 2000, and have a SB Live! When I go to install it Win2k Picks it up as a Audio Media Controller. I can't get drivers installed. When I run LiveWare it says can't find the SB Live Card.

I am running an epox 8kha+ with an athlone t-bird 1. 2 @ 1. 36 (8. 5 x 160) My computer keeps losing system files (win32/system. cfg and recently hal. dll) what could be causing this? could it be bad IDE drivers, or corrupt RAM? any other suggestions? It is a brand new West.

I'm having problems with my dual boot with XP/ME. I did the mistake to first install XP on c: since i thought i wouldn't need ME. I later installed ME on d:. Doing this made my computer only boot ME so i started repair console and made a fixmbr and fixboot.

Question. I have two hard drives on my primary channel, a Western Digital 40GB as the master and an IBM 41GB as the slave. I have Win98SE on the WD HDD, partitioned as a FAT32. I have WinXP on the IBM HDD, partitioned as NTFS.

Just a snip from hothardware, CONCLUSION: OK, time for the hard part. . . rating the boards and picking a winner. All of these motherboards are excellent, and they are all similarly priced, ranging from $130-$160 US.
