Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here can help me with continued problems with my CDROMs since upgrading to XP Pro. My 8x4x32 Iomega CDRW drive is on IDE2, Master My 52x LG CDROM is on IDE2, Slave Alright.

Hello, after i noticed dets 23. 12 on winupdate page and downloaded them a hell is happening to my computer. you know that after dl-ing from winupdate, the drivers autoinstalls. but then i got the error: An error occurred during the installation of the device.

Disappearing RAM!

Ok, this is kind of an odd problem. Today I booted up and decided to download 3d mark 2k and noticed that it listed my system specs as having only 384mb RAM. This is odd because I have 512mb. I restarted a couple times and still, only 384mb.

PaperPort 3100b under Win2k?

Ok guys here is one for ya's. I usually can figure a way to make things work although they are listed as noncompatible in win2k but the visioneer paperport 3100b simply will not respond. I have seen online someone who stated that the new NT drivers may work.

Could be the stupidest thread ever. . . . but I cannot get it. . . . what is the functionality of SMART (for HDDs) in the BIOS, apart from the obvious, monitoring and stuff? Does if affect the performance (probably not)? Any other issues that go with it? thank you in advance.

I bought this HD (IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30GB) 17 months ago. I had a PII back then with a 6GB HD and this HD was a major upgrade in storage posibilities. Then about 9 months ago I bought a new Mobo, processor and ram along with another HD (IBM Deskstar 60GXP 60GB).

Infinite reboot

Okay, this is puzzling. A guy I know from work is having some serious problems anytime he tries to install any drivers under XP. It ends up sending him into an infinite loop. He's reinstalled XP several times, to no avail.

TNT + W2k = WTF???

I put a diamond viper 550 (PCI) in my dad's computer. Windows2k found drivers for it and I thought I was all good, but they didn't have any D3D support. I downloaded some Detonators (23. 11 and 21. 89), and they work fine in 2D and say they have D3D support, but when you try to test D3D in Dxdiag, it crashes out.

I went to Windows Update this morning, and got offered new drivers for my GeForce card - Microsoft was calling them 23. 12. . . But when I checked on the nVidia website, they were still offering 23. 11 Detonators.

Im getting a Driver_irq_notless_orEqual error with Alcan5wn. sys Its a known problem with this modem and Windows XP. The solution posed is to use the PPP over Ethernet drivers instead of the PPPoA ones.

While trying to install Windows XP Pro 2600 on pimpin_228's computer we encountered problems installing. First I started by booting off the XP cd to start setup, it would load a few files and then it would get the the part where is says Starting Windows.
