WHY?? Why did NVIDIA change the way refreshrates are managed in the new Detonator drivers? Refreshrate fix doesnt understand it, and I sure as hell can't understand it either. has anyone had any luck changeing the gaming refreshrate with these drivers?.

can someone recommend a good motherboard manufacturer other than Giga-Byte for a penium 4 Motherboard. I am looking for one with 4 SDRAM Slots, 5-6 PCI Slots and 1 AGP slot, I dont want DDR RAM ect as I have 1 GB of SDRAM and dont really want to waste it Any Help Appreciated.

Major Gametheater XP problems - HELP!!!!

Hey, I just got a new computer, and with it a gametheater xp. . . I installed win2k and then instaled striaght away the drivers for the card that came with the disk. These work fine, however i went to update the drivers from the hercules website (to thelatest ones) and i started getting.

Im looking to ditch my 60gb 5400rpm/ata100 drive in for something large (80gb+) and with ATA/133 support. What are some good drive recomendations from the users?? Ive looked at Western Digital since i would like to go with them again since both my drives are both WD drives.

Unknown error that results in blue screen on WinXP

Hi. It's been a while since I've started being victim to a very annoying serious error that makes using my PC very unreliable/unstable. I believe it's related to my Maxtor D740X 60 GB, since when I use a 4-GB HD I have instead, this bug doesn't occur.

Sidewinder 3d pro always "not connected"

Hi I have plugged my sidewinder 3d pro on my sb live. When I click add in the game controller, and then I select Sidewinder, windows finds my sidewinder 3d pro but it always appears as not connected Any idea would be welcome.

Their support is not open on the weekend and Im stumped what else I should do. I just picked up a 10ft Serial cable for like $3 at this computer show today. I was originally thinking about getting a 6ft for a while but this seemed better.

I recently formatted my hard drive and re-installed Windows XP Pro (NTFS) using Standard PC mode. Now all my PCI and AGP devices use their own IRQ's and DMA's. No forced hardware or sharing. I did all the windows updates and my system runs awesome.

When the GeForce4 MX's come out, be aware that they lack some important features present in the GeForce3 line. Might want to consider them updates of the GeForce2 MX line. John Carmack of Id even criticized the NV17 being called a GeForce4 MX.

I have recently set up my NEC 660+ to work with Windows XP using a Minolta PageWorks Pro 1100L driver. I finally got it to print; however it prints multiple copies and won't stop until I cancel from the print menu (reminds me of a Stephen King novel).

C: going from UDMA4 -> PIO Mode After a cold boot...

Ok yet another problem here I can restore my settings to those of a few days ago, and my HDD and CDRom stay as a UDMA4 and MultiWord DMA-2 respectively, - as long as I don't shut it off. Restarts seem to be fine, though as the setting are retained.

What causes ATAPI Timout Errors in System Log?

Anyone have a clue as to why I would receive these errors in my system log every once in a while??? The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0. The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.
