lately i've been noticing slow downs on my d: drive and i checked the ide properties and noticed this: Device 0 : UDMA5 Device 1: PIO mode I have a Maxtor 15gig on Master and IBM 40gig on Slave for IDE 1.

CDRW weirdness

Looks like I've developed another hardware prob, suddenly out of the blue. I have a Lite-On LTR-12101B CDRW, which AFAIK is supposed to use UDMA/33. Now all of a sudden it's on PIO mode, & my CPU useage goes to 100% when I do anything with the drive, whether burning a CD, or just transferring data from CD to HDD.

Live! Keeps losing 4 speaker setting

I have a SB Live! Value. 4 Speakers + subwoofer Driver 3509. 2. 0. 0 11-2-2001 After a couple hours of idle time only 2 speakers work out of the 4 (not including the subwoofer, it works). I have to manually set it to 2 speakers and then back to 4 again for it to work.

Pioneer DVD-105S on XP causing BSOD?

I am having trouble with my Pioneer DVD-105S drive on Windows XP. When copying a large amount of data from a CD-ROM (as in installing a large software application) XP will BSOD after a time. I dual boot to Win98; no problem there.

Dear All, I was just wondering if Any of youmight now if this board supports the Duron 1. 2GHZ processor at a 200MHZ FSB. Note that the documentation says Duron 650~950, but since the documentation is old and might not be updated, I was hoping the processor I just ordered for it should work.

Thanks to those who posted in a previous thread. I managed to sort ouy my badly behaved 1800 chip by buying a new motherboard (due to budgest restraints it was the cheapest I could get - a Gigabyte 7ZXE)- but it doesn't lock up anymore.

Win2K keeps on finding new hardware when I start/restart my machine. I have no clue what it's looking for. In Device Manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to: Other devices >PCI device The only cards in my machine are video (which is AGP anyway), & my Adaptec 39160 SCSI adapter.

Regarding case fans I have 4 - I need to know what the optimal placement for these case fans are - I would think the 2 in the back should be blowing out, and the 2 in the front should be taking in cool air.
