Geforce4 partially working in XP but fully in ME

I've recently bought an MSI Geforce4 440 MX & installed it on a partitioned system with XP Pro & ME & have problems running games on XP. Unreal Tournament is the only 3D game that will run under XP, all games work great under Windows ME.

HP 5.25" Drive Problem

I have an HP XT-983. I have the CD-Writer that came standard on it. I have tried to put another drive in the second space as the slave. When I do that it takes away the CD-RW or my second hard drive.

If you have a Philips DVDRW208 You can ring them up and RMA 208 for the new 228 model I have and sent my old one back. They are doing this dew to the box having DVD+R when the unit will not write to DVD+R.

weird XP startup BSOD problem

Hi there, On my step dads PC running Win XP it keeps on coming up with a BSOD and in the dump message stating STOP : 0x0000007e (0xC0000005,. . . ). The only hardware changes were to add another 52x CDROM drive adding to the existing one but the PC has worked fine for the 2 weeks since the install.

I am about to purchase the new Abit IT7 board and run a P4 1. 8a processor. I am so used to P3's that I haven't kept up with the best cooling options for the P4. I am not planning on overclocking. Looking for stability in my computer.

Duron 1.2GHz temperature at around 58 degrees celcius

I'm running a Duron 1. 2, and the BIOS hardware monitor reports a temperature of around 50-58 degrees celsius. . continuously rising. I cannot verify that it idles at this temperature because I don't want to risk frying the chip.

Geforce4 4200 vs 4600 - Interesting Results

I decided to replace the ATi Radeon 8500 that came with my system with a Visiontek GF4 4200. Went to their site to run the Mad Onion test against the 4600 - the percent difference? 3%. Not bad! Especially at a difference of $200!.

PCMCIA video card

Do they make PCMCIA video cards? It would seem that a market would exist for one. While my ATI rage mobility works OK, it would be great to be able to upgrade the video card for higher graphics performance.

Problem 1. My brother has a voodoo 2 pci video card, and he has just installed windows xp home and the cd that came with the video card does not support windows xp. i have gone to voodoofiles. com but they only have win xp voodoo 2 drivers for glide and open gl.

XP sees Benq 48x16x48 as CD/DVD

Hello, I just installed Benq 48x16x48 (former Acer) and XP does not recognise it as CD-RW. It thinks it is CD/DVD and CDRWin does not see any recordable devices also. I installed latest Adaptec ASPI drivers 4.

I hate my Sound Blaster Live! its nothing but grief now, crackling, popping, you all know what the SB Live! can be like. Especially me with a VIA Chipset. (KX133) So, I want a new card, it should support all of those 3D APIs and have 4 speaker output.
