Disappearing CD-Drive

OK, I have a weird one here. I was installing Norton Systemworks on a work computer and right in the middle of it the CD drive disappeared!!!. It poped up with a message saying to put the cd back in the drive.

olympus d-300l win 2000 compatabilty

Hi there all, I have 'inherited' an olympus d -300l digital camera i am trying to download the pics via photoshop> I have installed the olympus twain s/w the problem appears to be that my laptop ( win2000) does not recognise the camera, after adding the camera thorugh the control panel.

GF4 TI4600 Performence Trouble

I bought a JETWAY GF4 TI4600 and throw out my GF 256. But now iam getting strange freezings with the new card The card works very fine and i get all the framerates i should get. But suddenly, everything freezes and and stands still for 2-5 seconds and then start to run again.

An Interesting Question to debate on...

It seems that whenever a new graphics card, sound system or whatever comes out I see a lot of posts on forums (not just this one) saying that they simply have to have them becuase it is a tiny bit faster than what they have now be it a the ATI Washing powder or the Nvidia Geforce.

New ti4600 - Device cannot start. (Code 10)

I have two partitions with the same OS. For some reason I'm getting this error message on one of them. On the other it works just fine. I've done the typical uninstall/reinstall procedure through safe mode, but it didn't help.

modem won't work in 98 for dual boot XP/98se

OK. I admit it, I'm stumped. Built a new system with a Soyo K7VTA Pro, Athlon XP 1700 processor. Installed my Maxtor 80GB 7200 rpm HD, floppy, CD. CD=RW, ATI Rage Pro card (PCI) with TV tuner, using on-board audio.

This is not really a problem, but do any one use this, is it good? Cause my disks get real hot like 42C and I need to cool them, and this seems like a good solution. . . . .

wierd driver mishap?

i have sound blaster live! 5. 1 n when i updated 2 the newest drivers it messed up the sound everytime i listened 2 music or watched movies on my comp i always hear scratches n it seems 2 slow down the movie since the music seems 2 be going slower any1 kno wat the prob is?.

tekram 390f problem

hi guys I've had an IBM x230 server running a tekram 390f scsi card with default sysbios logic drivers for a few months now with no problems. This afternoon i decided to up the drivers to the correct tekram 390 drivers from there site.

webcam ii Parallel on win2k

Hi All, I was trying to install webcam ii Parallel on win2k but none of the drivers work. I get that it finds the camera but it does not install the driver. I tried the win nt4 and the win98. Does anyone know where I can get the right driver Thank you Shay.

Games crush and freez on XP

I have Voodoo 4 4500 AGP 32MB on Pentium III 733Mhz and 128SDRAM. my problem is that while im playing games they suddenly crash - the picture on my screen freezing, and i cant control anything - not even the mouse or the keyboard, so i have to press RESET.

LG CD-RW Problems

Hey All, ok to start off with i have this LG GCE-8320B CDRW 32X10X40 INT driver and im having problems under XP. Im using Nero version 5. 5. 3. 5 and i cant not get it to work. It wont recognize the drive in Nero at all.
