Windows XP: How do I get the ALT + ( A Letter) to stay visib

Hi Gang, My dad bought himself a used HP AMD 1GHZ laptop. It's very nice, but we're woth Win2K men and it's XP. I'm wondering how do you get the F in the File menu to stay underlined even when you're not holding down the ALT key? Thank you very, very, much , Christian Blackburn.

Morning all. I got a new one for you. I recently purchased an HP Colour LaserJet 8550N and have it queuing to my Win2K Adv. Server with Macintosh Services enabled. The printer is currently shared to all on my network and the PC's print to it transparently.

A monitor that wont work properly

I recently bought a 19Inch monitor. . . . Compaq V90 The res on the monitor are 1280*1024 @ 85Hz 1600*1200@75 But after a re install the monitor would only work in 1280*1024@75Hz. . . . . If i try to go higher the screen only turns black.

CD drive problem - reading created cds in explorer

Hi i have just built a computer for a friend, it has got a Cyber Drive 32X 12X 48X cd writer. The problem occurs when trying to write a CD, the drive and software looks as if it is copying files to the cd and NERO says that the burn process was sucessful when finished.

i went and tried to install the kodak dvc 325 on my xp pc and first off i got a bsod so i went and uninstalled all the kodak crap now i have no sound whatsoever. any ideas would be helpful system includes amd xp 1800+ sb live 5.

Adding memory locks up 2 games

Running 2k w/sp3 I went from 256 to 512 PC133 (on a PC100 system) memory and it caused 2 games to lockup. The MB is Soyo SY-6BA+IV with a Wintell BX440 chipset and a 450 PII. I ran a DOS based memory testing program on the box for 8-10 hours with 15 passes and they all passed.

My hardware: Athlon XP 1800+ Abit KX7-333 MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 (64MB) (yes, I have the latest xp drivers, 3. 0. 8. 7) Soundblaster Live Value (ditto) Etc. The problem: WMP crashes if I try to play *anything* with it.

i gotta saphire radeon 7000 64mb w/tv out video card that i bought for real cheap. what do u think about that running with AMD 1800+, win xp ? just wondreing if i should reconsider buying a better card for future games that might require higher standards.

Messed up CD-ROM drive

My CD-ROM drive seems kind of messed up. It just won't open. I press the button to eject but it won't open. Then I restart it and it opens. Then the next day again it won't open. I restart the computer and it still won't open.

Removing hidden partition on Compaq Presario HD

On a Bigfoot HD on a Compaq Presaro 5630 box the 12GB HD has a hidden partition for the backup of the system as delivered. Can this hidden partition be removed using Fdisk or Partition Magic? I want to re partition the whole drive to include the space used by this partition.

This really isn't a 2k question, it seemed like the place to put it. I'm going to work on this 5630 and the Compaq, now HP site isn't much help since they would rather sell a new box than upgrade a old one.

How do I enable AGP2X on GeForce 2 card?

Basically what the topic says. I have a GeForce 2 MX AGP which is capable of 2X AGP, and so is my motherboard, however, it says 1X in the display properities. How do I make it 2X? Thanks.

Audigy to Six Channel AMP?

Hi guyz, Does anyone know which phono wire goes into the subwoofer input and which goes to the centre input on an amp? would it be the red or the white that goes into the sub channel on the amp :x. This is from my audigy soundcard to the six channel in on my sony amp.

MS Sidewinder Game Pad - Problem with win2k

I have Win2k Pro + SP3 installed When I install the game pad (it`s the old one with gameport) it just works fine. but after a random time of playing any game with the pad, suddenly the game minimizes and a New Hardware found dialog pops up.
