Hard disk reported only as 8 GB?

This has been bugging me for awhile. When I try to setup Windows 2000 with SP3 slipstreamed the text portion of setup will only recognize 8 GB of my 20 GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus IDE drive. If I use my original Windows 2000 CD without any SP integrated, it detects the full drive capacity and there is no problem.

SCSI for my P4?

Well guyz i am thinking of going for a £100ish 18GB 10krpm SCSI drive to use for booting windows and using on a few games. would this improve windows performance at all compared to my 7krpm IBM's? If so is it anoth improvement to sacrifice a weeks wages too? Thanx guyz.

Presario 900 Driver Issue

I formatted WinXP Home Edition off of a Presario 906US notebook and installed Win2k Pro, but for some reason, it is not detecting the video card (ATI Radeon IGP 16mb) and I cannot seem to install the video card drivers from ATI, because it comes up with the error about hardware not being there.

Recovering data from a burnt out hard drive

Is there a way to recover data from a hard drive burnt out (trust me, it is BURNT OUT) due to a power surge in the power supply without spending $800? I know that the chips on the HD are fried. I've checked with a few companies and they say that it will cost about 800 USD.

P4 & hyper threading a "no-go" in Win2K?

Many of us already know the new 3. 06GHz & higher P4's will have hyper threading enabled, similar to their Xeon brothren. But, from reading some of the columns over at , it looks like HT may mean switching to WinXP.

Quality Power Supply?

Here's a question for everyone: How can you tell if your power supply is working ok, short of weird problems and errors? Asus PC Probe shows the different voltages (+12, +5, +3. 3, Vcore). Is there a range that those should stay within for safety/quality?.

Blue monitor

I got a Dell 2500 Inspiron laptop and I connect it to a CRT monitor which is about 7 years old and it's a Dell. It's been working for a year then about 2 weeks ago the screen is all blue but you can still see Windows over this blue.

Detonator Issues

Its been a while since I last posted here, been out in the scary real world. Anyways, I don't seem to be able to install any of the 40. xx series of detonator drivers on Windows XP. I have a GF3, which has worked fine with the other drivers.
