I previously posted re: CD-ROM problems - thanks all for your help but still no joy. it was suggested to tri a reinstall. I have the original CD-ROM and went for the 'upgrade' prompt. All was well until the system reboots after the initial bit of the install and prompts for the disc to be inserted in the CD ROM.

I'm running WIN XP home, Athlon 1100, 512MB RAM. I have the following cards installed: AGP GeForce 2 MX PCI Soundblaster 5. 1 PCI 10/100 NIC PCI 4 port USB MS PS2 Keyboard with USB ports, to which I have connected an Intellieye USB Mouse, and an external USB ZIP 100.

IDE Cable Question

I have a removable drive bay in my computer, it's connected to the mainboard with a 80pin cable. But inside the cradle there is a 1 to 2 inch 40pin cable. My computer is running the device at UDMA Mode 5(ATA100) even tho there is a 40pin cable.

Drivers Needed! ATI Rage 128 ULTRA 32meg (Strange Problem)

We received a dell for one of our offices that came with WinXP. The software that the branch uses won't work with XP so they installed Win2K. We went to ATI. com and found drivers for the ATI Rage 128/Pro (Being the only choice really) but the setup says that those drivers won't work with our adapter.

I've read of a few people who have various other verisons of these glasses, and they say they work really well. Only real downside is they don't work with TFT screens It's possible that this X3D stuff might, but all the earlier models explicitly stated that you had to use a CRT screen.

Ahhhh! For some reason, and it didn't used to do this. My motherboard in my server will only allow a max of 2 drives! And I've got 2 IDE ports. So theoretically, (and it used to work) I should be able to have 4 IDE drives!!! But, for some reason it will only accept one per IDE port! WTF is going on here? I've tried ...

I got a 40 GB Western Digital IDE ATA-100 hard drive i've had a few years now, never had any problems with it. Until I attempted to use Partition Magic 7 to convert a partition on the drive from NTFS to FAT32.

My Plantronics headphones w/mic finally gave up on me. I was about to buy an identical replacement, when a friend gave me a listen to his Sennheiser headphones. Well, I'm in love with the Sennheisers, but still need to find a good quality microphone.

severe hard drive issues

several problems i have a ata 133 raid card with 2 60 gig ata 100 hard drives 1 blistering fast speed as a floppy 2 there is no dma mode available, do i need it? 3 is there anyway to check the actual speed to know if its even working right? 4 its not a missing driver problem because without the driver on the cd ins ...

Easyphoto reader (scanner) drivers

I have tried everything I can think of to install my easyphoto reader on my windows2000 system. From NT compatible I found links for drivers that are supposed to be compatible, I downloaded both the link and the update as well as changed my parellel port setting to EPP and it still is giving me a driver error.

USB bandwidth reserves under XP

Is it possible to vary the 'fixed' amount of bandwidth that the system reserves for each USB port? I'm running a cable modem on USB, and also have a 4 USB port PCI card, and a MS keyboard with USB ports.
