win2k network stops responding

Hiya I've got some trouble with my network. I'm connected to internet via lan and get my ip(and gateway, ect. ) from a dhcp server. Well the problem is downloading larger files. Suddenly the network stops responding and to fix the problem i disable the network and enable it again.

What is the best progs to test my internet connection speed? My ISP offered me an WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTIONS w/c can hav a 1MBPS connections in a much more same in idialup price. . when they install the antennas, i notice some good speed but i cant tell if the throughput speed s what they say.

I just bought a new NIC. a TE100-S4PCI ( ) for 80 bucks Now my question is what program to use to share the internet. Do I use an application such as WinProxy, or is there something better? Maybe a way to set my PC up as a DHCP server(this is on the Win2k CD)? I just want to be able to share internet with this comp ...

Dial-Up connections dissapear

Every dial-up connection i've made simply dissapears after a few days of use. The connection exists somehow, since i can use them, or change their settings, from the auto-dialup utility that pops up with ie.

OK, I've just finished moving our company over from MS SBS 4. 0 to a Win2k Server based network. All is actually going very well (apart from a few of the Win9x clients disconnecting themselves for some unknown reason & licensing being all screwey, you have 10 illegal connections but 15 licenses still available???) ...

How well does this product work? And also, I've seen reviews that say it can work as an internet sharing device. How does it do that with only 1 ethernet port out? And also, if it does work as an internet sharing device, does the GUI interface work on just one computer?.

HI ! Soon i will install Win2K, at the moment i use WinME and Sygate for ICS. I have a Cable modem and 2 networkcards in my PC. Can i ICE under Win2k without Sygate ? And when yes can i use all the internet appz on my 2nd PC ??? Like Audiogalaxy or Netmeeting and so on.

Home networking trouble between 2k and 98....

I'm running Win2k Pro on my machine in my basement. My brother is running Win98 in his room. I'm using a 10Mbit hub between them. I'm trying to set up his machine to use my printer over the network, but whenever I try to set it up on his machine, I get a message saying that I have no permissions.

Help! I am running Win2k server with NAT (not ICS). Everything works great, but once in a while I will lose all connectivity to the network. I cannot ping any internet address or internal network address.

My NT 4 workstation has a dsl connection and I would like to network my wife's Win 98 laptop to it. I have an additional nic card and she has a pcmcia card and i have a crossover cable connecting the two.

Using ICS with a Cable Modem

I've just had a Cable Modem installed, and am having problems with sharing the connection. My main machine (full specs in signature) uses the onboard Intel NIC for a LAN connection via a hub. A second 3Com NIC is connected to the Cable Modem.

Is it possible to set bandwidth limits on Internet Connection Sharing? My Win2k system is connected to the internet via DSL, with another Win98 system connected via network, using ICS. However, whenever someone is on the other computer, actively using the internet, my internet speed drops to a crawl.

I have the following problem. When I try to create a new dial-up connection,from Network and dial-up connections-Make new connection,all the options are unmarked. I can only check Dial-up to the Internet,but when I press the Next button,the screen doesn't change.
