Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me with connecting two networks together. I'm at a college that has its own network and only allows one ip for each ethernet port (one to a room). My roommate and I use ICS to bridge this problem (2 NICs and a crossover cable), but we want more.

I'm trying to add another gateway (with its own DSL connection) to a network that already has one gateway connected to the internet using DSL using Win2k Pro. The problem is that win2k doesn't allow me to use any dummy IP other than 192.

in Win9x, you could share all files on a computer, but now, with WinXP 2505, it will let me share all folders but the windows folder and the program files folder, anyone know how to enable these?

Man, I cannot get networking working! I can get on the net and what not. But I cannot get my two XP machines to see each other. Nor can I get my XP machine to see my Win2K machine! They call this an RC release?? My workgoup doesn't show up, and my shares do not show up.

You know when you map a drive and have it remap when you restart. And then that system with the drive to be mapped is gone. Well I have a lot of mapped drives (13 to be precise) and some times when the systems are offline it says error connecting and all that crap.

In win2k, I used to be able to share specific folders on my hd, but only to specific acounts that i designated. For Example, i used to share my whole d drive to an acount that i used with my laptop, and i would share a general folder to the public, therefore, the public couldnt see my whole hard drive.

I might have found a bug. After altering my workgroup name and rebooting winXP RC1, I found that the name had been reset to WORKGROUP. Nothing seems to be able to change this workgroup name into something that makes sense.

running on windows 2000 Sp2 ok. . . i have about a BILLION entries in my dns cache and apparently they aren't being updated as IPs change (such as microsoft. com)therefore certain websites cant be accessed using their names because the ip assigned to the name has been changed but it the old IP is instill in the cache.

Ok, here is a tough one. I have a Windows 2000 Server machine, and a Windows 2000 Professional machine and I have full administrative rights to both of them. The problem is the following, both machines are connected to a LAN through a 10BT hub.
What should I do?

Right now I have a computer running Sygate to share my web connection. I am think about buying a cable/dsl router to take the place of the computer. I do a lot of port mapping to play games and such.
