I want to be able to remotely controll my ftp server from the network, like add users and such. Is this possible with the microsoft ftp server or any other ftp server?.

Slow browsing the Network Neighborhood

Is it just me or is XP a little bit slow browsing the computers in Network Neighborhood. Is there a way to speed up the process? Right now, when I click on View Workgroup computers in Network Neighborhood, it takes like 5-10 seconds to show the computers in my workgroup.

Different XP Networking problem

OK I succesfully configured the XP computer to see the WinME shared and such. The only problem is that the ME computer can't see the XP shares. The XP computer is listed in My Network Places but it cannot be accessed.

I have a problem where a User keeps appearing under my Security tab of the properties of a directory on my server. Even though this is the only problem that i have with my server right now, I'm worried that a hacker somehow did this.

Win2KPro & XP & win98 cannot internet? help!

I have 5 machines at home and wired, 1 was for win2k Server, 1 NT workstation, 1 for XP Pro, 1 win2k pro and 1 win98. I already enable the internet sharing in win2k server and the server is connected to my ISP.

FTP Uploads in Win2K SP2

Greetings all, I've been having problems uploading large files (greater than 1MB) to FTP servers in Windows 2000 Pro SP2. The upload will start, but then I'll get dropped with an error that the data connection was closed or that the connection was reset by peer.

I'm running Win2k Server on a cable modem and want to run an FTP server. It all runs fine. EXCEPT, users have to disable passive mode in order to send/receive data, otherwise a Data Socket Error occurs.

C$ shares in Windows XP

I upgraded from Win2K to XP and on the machine that I upgraded C$ workds fine. I set XP on my roommates machine and C$ does not work. He can connect to mine and it prompts him to enter a username and a password.

hey guys. . . i have a little problem. I am migrating a novell/groupwise 5. 5 network to a Win2k/Exchange 2000 network. My question is, how do i migrate the NAB's (novell address books) created in groupwise into Microsoft Outlook? I need to copy all of my users' contact lists into outlook.

i have also 2 puters. . 1 win2k other winxp. . i don't have anyproblems getting from 1 computer to the other computer. . just run the wizzard and it will work without netbui. . also don't have a problem with sharing my printer.

So I am trying to do the standard local networking with my two machines. One is Win2K, the other is XP RC1. Now, I usually use NetBeui as it is fairly secure as it is a private connection between two computers and has nothing to do with the internet.
