Netorking XP and 98se, Help me please...

I've got One computer with XP that I'm trying to network with the kids computer 98se. Problem is I can't see the other computer on either machine. I have two nic cards in the XP machine one for dsl and one for lan.

Here a question. . . Everytime a user send a print job a popup on the screen saying the print job is done. I want the messenger service to start automatically for me to mass popup to users when I need to do system maintenance.

Hey! I just recently installed WinXp on one of my comp. . However, my other comps running WinME can't seem to be able to access my WinXP comp on the network. . They can see it, but when I click on it, it will say WindBlad is not accessible.

Just wanted to mention that Linksys 802. 11b (Wi-Fi) network cards work fine with no issues in XP Professional 2600. Either PCMCIA card or w/ PCI adapter. Driver causes standard warning that it hasn't been tested.

how to move all clients documents n settings to server ?

I have 1 w2k srv installed with active directory n 2 w2k pro clients. How can I move doucments n settings folders of clients to server's document n settings. So that who ever logins from any pc on network will get his desktops , settings, start menu , doucments etc.

and my internet goes to s**t. I am on cable and its acting like I have a 14. 4. I have a linksys router and two computer connected to the router. The funny thing is that I upgraded from Win2k to XP. Internet connection was fine.

I cant get FTP and MAIL working through my ISA server. Yet web server and internet access IS working. . . How do I fix this? I have tried tons of things yet they do nothing. .

Hi, I have a problem with my Windows NT 4. 0 server. It started after i installed BDC on domain. First the dhcp server gave on Active Leases window an BAD ADDRESS on few IPs. Then when i tried to connect another new PC on network and it failed.

I am new here, but I was wondering if you all could help. I used a cross over cable to network two boxes both running win 2000. One box has a connection to a cable modem. I would like to share taht connection with the other box but i cant get the sharing to work.

NTFS to FAT32?

Is it possible to convert an NTFS partition to FAT32? I installed XP as NTFS, but now I cannot get any folders shared on my network. Even though I have permissions set to everyone, my other XP computer cannot gain access to the supposedly publically shared folder I made.

I ran the IIS security tool from microsoft and now it has locked down my ports. I need some of these ports open to pass info to an AS/400. It also blocked the ports, so now I can't even PCAnywhere into the machine.

i installed the ISA server, got the proxy working for the most part. How do I set it up so that my client comptuers can check mail through SMTP and POP3? I have been messing around with it but nothing i do seems to help.

Hi Im about to (or thinking about) putting a firewall on my computer because will shortly be getting static connection to the Internet. i currently have a super fast 56K modem!!!! With having a dial-up network i did not bother with a firewall for obvious reasons.
