I am sad :-(. My laptop works fine with my cable modem but my main computer does not. It has 2 3com network cards in it and both seemed to have died. I know the cable modem and connection are working fine but the cards don't seem to want to grab their new IP address.

I know we can dual boot, but I would rather not complicate this any further than necessary (2 system partitions and a storage partition, licensing, etc).

I have a cable modem that connects me to the internet. I am planing to buy a hub in order to connect 3 computers together and share the internet connection. I know that an easy way was to create a network with BNC cables, but two of the computers are laptops and their PCMCIA cards take only UTP cables.
