I need a little help with Migration from NT4 to Win2k. We have a main office which hosts the Primary and Backup Domain controllers. We also have a WAN with 6 offices that contain BDC's. Each office has a router and at the main office there is a PIX firewall between the main office and the outside world.

The prob. is that My friends computer (we can call it A) cant acces my computer witout typing a password, It hasent been that always, and I dont know how to stop that, I want him to connect to my computer without the pass.

Was testing some thing but I got stump. I have 2 IDE running Win2K server. I was just testing the mirroring feature in W2K. I convert the basic disk to dynamic, create a mirror of IDE0 to IDE1. It goers through the regenerating stuff and reboot.

Changed Win2k Server name and now can't file share

I needed to change the machine name, so I disconnected all the mapped drives from the clients, jumped on the server, changed the name, then rebooted. Then I tried to browse the server's shares from the clients.
What am I doing wrong?

i've just re-built my win2k domain after a dc crash, & the domain users group is unable to logon to any of my wkstns. they're getting eventid: 533 - your user acct is not configured to allow you to use this computer, please find another.

Security using a DSL modem and router in DMZ mode

Running 2k, a Verizon DSL modem, a Netgear router RT314 in the DMZ mode, and 2 computers without a firewall, what can I do for security other than passwords? I really don't want to run a firewall, the program ICUII needs UDP and TCP/IP port ranging that the 314 can't do and I want to share between both computers.

I found that allows cut n' paste of files within the Terminal Services frame work. It won't install though. Says it can't upgrade certain files. Do I need the resource kit installed in order for this hotfix to work? Or is there a workaround?.

Hi, Not so much of a problem, more of an answer to a problem. I purchased a networking card to connect this machine, P4, 1. 5 Ghz, Win XP Home, to an upstairs machine, Dell, P3, 733 Mgh, Win 98 SE. This machine would not accept the drivers (on a floppy) although the documentation said that it was Win XP compliant.
