we r having problems setting up a network using two computers. One is connected to broadband and the two pc's are joined by a crossover cable. We have run the wizzard and nothing happens. any ideas.

I know this is a basic network question, but when I start my 2nd machine I get a the drive or network connection is unavailable message refering to a shortcut on the desktop to my 1st machine. It doesn't do it on the first machine.

How can I find all static IP addresses in use on Windows NT server? We have several printers and PCs with static addresses, but they are not in the Reservations list, and do not show up in the Active Leases because they don't use DHCP.

Okay. . here goes. I have just got a DSL connection with a DSL modem. I bought a Linksys 4-port Router so I can connect my computer and my new labtop together to share an internet connection. I have the DSL modem connected to the Router while having an ethernet cable connect to my ethernet port on my computer.

Ok me and some m8s are having a LAN party this friday. 5 PCs: 4 running 2000 Pro 1 running Me (I know!) One 2000 PC will be the server for most of our games and the machines will be connected to an 8 port hub, PCs have 10/100mb PCI cards installed in them.

Hi MY IIS 5. 1 (on XP) has been working fine for ages. However, a few months ago, it stopped starting automatically and each time I rebooted, I had to start it manually. Anyway, it still worked fine.

This is the first time i've had a LAN (2x Win2k boxes) since like 1993 or something when i had Win3. 11 & Win95 on a LAN. I remember i was able to send Messages that popped up at the other computer back then.

How do i find out which company has issued a certiain domain? for example was sold to Fred, by. Is there an administrative website (verisign?) which tells you what sold (more correctly leased) to Fred? Because companies such as (here in Australia) Netregistry, Webtrader ect.

I have 4 XP and one Win 98 PC on my network. I am able to explore all of the PC's from any XP PC. I can only explore 2 of the 4 XP PC's from the Win 98's. When I try and explore the 3rd XP PC I get a Access Denied error message and exploring the 4th I get: You must supply a password to make this connection.
