I get this error on every bootup. I know it is a Winsock related error but have no idea how to fix it. Error code 0000000a, parameter1 00000004, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 804ea395.

Cd Creator/DirectCD conflict with WinFast Utility?

How fast should the windows 2k shutdown be

Hi all, yet more questions. When my windows 2k shuts down it seems really fast, when the PC powers down the Hard disk light is still on and i get a small clunk from my hard disk , i didnt notice this on Windows 98.

WIth windows 9x, if we go to shutdown -> shutdown -> ok, the computer really shutdown, with win2k the computer shows a msg: It's now safe to shutdown or something like that, is there any way to put win2k to really shutdown, and don't show that msg? Simão Mata webdesigner.

unstable media player ?

Sometimes the media player in RC1 wont play a specific avi or mpeg file, even if it could play it before. If I log off and on again it works fine again. Is this a bug in the media player or has anyone else seen this ? Seems a little unstable to me.

I am having a weird problem. I am doing a fresh install of 2k on a p3 500 mhz computer from gateway. It goes as far as the initial setup wizard screens. After it finishes an saves the info it reboots.

1st post here. . I tried to install Visual Studio. NET beta 1 on WinXP RC1, no way , it needs Win2K and Service Pack 1. Is there anyway to fool it is on Win2K SP1 ? A friend of mine said Visual Studio.

when i try running the program i get the error message: Error: unable to initialize the ASPI manager ASPI support was not found so i installed adaptec cd creator 4 to install the new drivers but it won't install because the update program said i don't have any adaptec program on my computer now i can't use CDRWIN h ...

When i recently installed the newest version of IE 6 avaiable i noticed that you can no longer play embedded Quicktime videos. YOu must first save it & then play it. Does anyone know a way to fix this or why this is?.

I'm running windows 2000 on a celeron 500, with 64mb ram, 12gb hd, and a riva tnt 2, I was running on a FAT32 filesystem, and then I changed to NTFS, and windows started to crash, I changed again to FAT32 but win still crashes, the cause isn't the filesystem.

I just did a fresh install of Win 2k and I have the most current drivers for the system all the way around. ACPI is enabled and the soundcard and NIC are sharing IRQ 9. I was listening to MP3's and downloading some at the same time (pushing the modem very hard) and randomly the system will studder and it last about ...

Hello all My m/b is Abit BF6 with latest bios. I have just done a clean full install of Windows 2000 - also, ACPI and PnP o/s were disabled in the bios - I did not want install ACPI so that I could control my IRQ allocations via BIOS.

I installed win2k on a seperate partition and I love it. . . I have been using it for awhile now. I would like to get rid of Win98se which is on my primary partition. I want to reinstall win98 just to have for a couple of games but I want to rid of everything on win98 because of its great size of programs installed.

W2K slow when first starts after login

Hi, i'm new to Win2K, but i love it. I have one question. when W2k starts up, after all my tray icons have loaded etc, if i click to open a program, there is often a 10-15 second delay before it opens.
